And the “non-toxic” part is bullshit as well. First of all, due to allergies what is non-toxic to me might not be non-toxic to someone else. I mentioned peanuts before, but the dipshit in that article comment could use the same logic for feeding peanuts to kids with allergies, except that it would be a stronger argument. Peanuts are non-toxic, natural, and a good source of protein and sustenance. Why not give them to all kids?

Even the snake oil called Zicam, which was only legal because homeopathic remedies are usually nothing more than magic water and therefore harmless, had such high doses of zinc that they could cause permanent loss of smell in an old formulation.

The new parents will be foster parents, surely, at least for the girl, who will be difficult to get adopted with that amount of medical care required (tracheostomy, and g-tube implanted her body). Better, probably, in any case, but also probably far from ideal.
I wonder why it took the authorities 3 months after the incident to arrest her. She’s also being charged with domestic violence assault, for slugging her live-in fella (apparently not the children’s father).

Investigators later determined that man is not the childrens’ biological father, but he does have four biological children with Perez Miranda who she had with her at the time of the incident.

This January, a home flipper sold a recently remodeled house in Grand Junction, CO, and the new owner discovered a large freezer on the property which they didn’t need, and decided to give it away online. When a person who responded to their ad came to pick up the freezer, they opened it up for presumably the first time in years - and discovered a severed human head and a pair of hands.
Today, police have identified the body parts as belonging to a 16-year-old girl, who had not been seen or heard from since 2005 but was apparently never reported missing.
Prior to its being flipped, the owner of the home was the girl’s father. His location is not currently known.
There was an almost identical case on Forensic Files back in the day - a new homeowner discovered a body in a 55-gallon drum, who turned out to have been the mistress of the man who owned the house before the person who sold it to him.
I’m guessing either the home flipper never opened the freezer, or the body parts were buried under a bunch of old stuff and they never dug through it.
