Can someone explain to me why a paralyzed Congressman, confined to a wheelchair, needs to have an automatic pistol in the first place?
Sooooo, disability status is a qualifier for gun possession? Color me confused.
There are many reasons to criticize this nimrod, but being in a wheelchair isnt one of them.
So, that wasn’t a factor in his thinking? Every US representative has a 2nd amendment right to take a pistol onto an airplane?
OK, I’ll play devil’s advocate:
Presuming that his eyes and arms work: he needs the pistol more than somebody would whose legs work, because he’s less able than most people to defend himself without a gun.
There are lots of things wrong about trying to take it on a plane; and arguably things wrong about ordinarily carrying weapons in general; but the wheelchair isn’t one of them. It argues if anything in the other direction.
Yeah, I hate to defend that jerk but target shooting is a sport that just about anyone can compete on an even playing field. Women, children and the disabled can operate firearms just as well as a young man.
But one would hope he is not intending on doing any target shooting while aboard an aircraft which begs the question, why he wanted it there.

You must not apologize. It is a sign of weakness. Your cause is just and righteous, and you must show strength and persistence in your pursuit of these noble goals. Apololgizing shows admission of wrongdoing, which sullies the purity of your drive toward these most divine and vital goals. Not being a wussy/liberal means never being allowed/having to say you are sorry.
