Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 1)

Absolutely agreed. This is an increasingly polarized electorate (“I’ll vote for syphilitic dog before I vote for a Democrat!”) and backing the whackos runs an increasing risk of the whackos getting into office. If I ran the DNC this tactic would be banned and those who utilized it cut off from national support.

I literally told my wife yesterday that at this point I’d vote for a convicted child molester if they were a Democrat, I’m so fed up with the other side. She laughed. I was only somewhat joking though.

I know it’s not a good thing but I’m just tired of one side being criticized for raising taxes, and the other side trying to end the country.

Trans woman in Georgia is suing Chick-fil-a because they wouldn’t do anything when one of her coworkers sexually harassed her when he thought she was assigned female, and then homophobically when he found out she was trans.

I hope she gets awarded a fortune.

I don’t doubt Chick-fil-a will appeal any judgement as far as possible expecting to hit a friendly judge somewhere.

Or they can just say they are obeying their religious views.

Holy Hatred!

As much as I like Chick-fil-a’s food, I stopped eating there when I found out about the homophobic activities of its owner.

I had one of their sandwiches once. Once. I can get the same thing at AM-PM. It tastes the same, and it’s cheaper.

Joe Rogan says homeless people should be shot.

You and me both. The idea of him being governor makes my skin crawl.

Yeah, it was one of my easier boycotts as well. I just didn’t get the appeal.

I found this miscellany of bigotry somewhat confusing, to clarify:

Male coworker initially thought she was a cis woman, and sexually harassed her; when coworker found out she is a trans woman, he abused her with homophobic insults as though she were a gay man.

ETA: oh, and she’s Black, so needless to say a liberal sprinkling of n-word thrown in.

So did others apparently, once they learned of it as well.

Real pleasant work environment.

As long as it glorifies God, all is forgiven, right?

The fines were pretty hefty for messing with the local wildlife. While I was there, some of my fellow managers and I got big kick out of the fact we would be fined for molesting the chickens (actual terminology, IIRC, of the law concerned), but at the same time, every meal served in the miltary dining facility had chicken and the few restaurants/clubs on the island also served chicken.

ROPO1 (ROPO = Royal Police Officer; the lower the number, the higher the rank) at the time told me what happened when he and another ROPO went to serve a search warrant at the hovel (excuse me, “quarters”) used by one of the employees of our company. The idiot employee had his television on and a video on it (I don’t recall if it was a DVD or tape) with the TV screen in view from the door to the quarters. ROPO1 told me, “Monty, when I saw what was on the TV, I completely forgot what we were there for. It was the most disgusting porn I’ve ever seen.”

There’s no way of answering that, but it does make me wonder where the expression, “Keep fucking that chicken” originated.

My father rose to the rank of Colonel in the U.S. Army and I spent a full 20 years (21 if you count my drilling Reserve time) in the military (combined service in the Army and Navy). I know damn well what a Colonel’s eagle looks like. It’s not what’s in that logo. You’re absolutely correct: it’s bullshit they’re spewing.

Or bird guano, after the bird ate cherries.

A Kentucky man spent millions of dollars on a massive house with a 2000 sq ft bunker to protect him and his family from societal collapse. A guy looking for just such a bunker broke into the house, shot the guy, and killed his daughter.

That’s not as dumb as that, I think. I’d simply parse that as “that person uses an US idiom to invoke their right against self-incrimination”. The substantial content of the US Fifth Amendment (except the right to a jury trial) is implemented in the laws of all countries respecting human rights.

Alas, paywalled. I tried creating an account using my work email, and it said I had to enter a valid email address. Is the story anywhere else?
