Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 1)

Here is a gift link to the New York Times story about the multi-million dollar Kentucky house with an elaborate bunker.

Thank you.

Wow. I’m sorry about the daughter, but dad sounds like a piece of work… who was attacked by someone who seems to have thought the same things he did.

I was bothered a bit by the father assuming that, once Obama had been elected president, societal collapse and civil war were inevitable. Perhaps I’m naïve, but it seems a bit racist.

And in Kentucky of all places! Who ever would have thought…?

A “bit” racist?

I think that most of their lives were pretty fucked up before they turned to Sov Cit. That’s more of less the draw, if you can just find the right magic words, then you can get all your problems fixed.

Yes, that’s exactly my point. These are broken people, and likely have been for a long time. You have to be in order to grab onto this.

This. And I was also bothered by this:

Mr. Morgan did not buy any of this. The attack was so meticulously planned. How could that be the work of an insane person? he asked.

I thought the general legal definition of insanity was along the lines of “in a state of mind in which the morality of an action is misjudged or unknown.” Someone who’s schizophrenic and not taking medication could be insane if they’re suffering delusions. Doesn’t mean they’re stupid or unable to think their way through a problem.

GOP candidate for NY Governor Lee Zeldin attacked on stage. I’m pitting the wannabe killer-this is not a good idea! They’d just use him as a martyr! Oh, and attacking Trumpers is wrong too.

False flag!
ETA OMFG quote from the article:

The suspect was arraigned in Perinton Town Court and released on his own recognizance.

No mention of this in any of the stories about this “attack”, but this guy is under investigation for alleged ballot petition fraud. I’m sure you’re all shocked!

“…the New York State Board of Elections has invalidated nearly 13,000 signatures on petitions for Zeldin to appear on the Independence Party line on the ballot, the Times Union reported. That decision came after it was alleged by Andrew Kolstee, secretary of the state’s Libertarian Party, that some 11,000 of Zeldin’s signatures were merely copies of other pages.”

He was only charged with second degree attempted assault. Although the word “stab” is used at least a couple of times in the article, the weapon is only described as “a weapon.” My guess from these points is that the weapon was improvised and not, per se, very deadly. I personally think there should be an enhancement for attempted political intimidation or something, but clearly authorities don’t regard it as an attempted assassination.

In FoxNewsLand, this event was much more important than the entirety of the Jan 6 hearings combined. 2nd only to the assassination of Lincoln.

I saw a photo showing one of those cat head-shaped self-defense tools, but I was skimming and didn’t read the article. I’ll see if I can dig up a photo.

ETA: Similar to this:

That RINO?

Okay, here’s an image of the weapon from Fox, where they characterize it as a “blade.”

Which Hannity is claiming actually “exonerated” Trump.

Sounds familiar.

Couple of ne’er-do-wells enter a survivalist’s bunker and kill him for his stuff; nearly kill his daughter and son-in-law as well after they walk in.

The “blade” was a plastic keychain fob. David Jakubonis used $10 cat keychain in Lee Zeldin attack (nypost.com)

Get into plastics son, soon brass knuckles will be made out of them.
