All sorts of stupidity here:
Too much to explain or even sum up. At least not without running afoul of fair use.

I would start by saying that I can’t understand someone who leaves a car running with the keys in it while you go into a store and shop. That’s insane. You might as well put a “steal me” sign on the windshield.
That doesn’t excuse the crime at all, but come on. Have a thimble full of common sense here.
We seem to be talking at cross purposes. You are talking about publishing (what companies do); I am talking about journalism (what individual people do). A journalist is a person who digs out a story and writes it. What happens to that story, and what other kinds of stories, puff pieces, and opinion pieces are published with it or instead of it, is out of his or her hands. Those decisions are made by publishers.
My previous answer was incomplete, in that I did not specify this relationship. When I wrote that newspapers “could afford to spend money on actual journalism” it meant only that, they could do so if they chose, and not go out of business. Some newspapers made a point of having very good journalism, and sold their advertising on the basis of the quality of customers that good journalism draws in. Some did the opposite, and some did whatever was expedient. In any case, there was actual journalism that was available to be published.
By the way, newspapers and most other news media are businesses not public services. That’s a difficult relationship at best, if we are to depend on them for accurate and intelligent reporting. Even more difficult now, when so many people seem to think they should not be obliged to pay for their news, and those folks are getting the quality they are willing to pay for. The publicly-supported model, like NPR, seems to work reasonably well, and that’s where I tend to go for reliable reportage.
Me too. A lot of my news comes from NPR these days. I’m a subscriber for my local affiliate because I appreciate what they do.
Somebody needs to construct a Hitler-tRump and a KKK-tRump NFT.
I have Photoshop but not the mad skillz for that.
Gionet, who earlier in the day said he believed Trump’s digital card gambit means he “can’t win” in 2024, wrote a follow-up missive in which he questioned his own decision to storm the Capitol building on January 6th, 2021.
“I can’t believe I’m going to jail for an NFT salesman,” he lamented.
Maybe while he’s in the pokey he can think about how to be a better judge of character in the future.
Or not.
But you could believe you’re going to jail for an frozen steak salesman I asked.
Although Gionet was once a major Trump supporter in his first two presidential campaigns, he has now apparently switched his allegiance to rapper Kanye West, who has taken to openly praising Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler and denying the Holocaust.
Definitely not.
Yep. It’d be funny if it weren’t for, well, everything in those few short paragraphs.
Florida man arrested for being naked in an apartment inhabited by two women. He swore that his wife was there, but he couldn’t identify which of them was his wife. He isn’t married.
Cocaine’s a hell of a drug.
Does Florida add it to the water supply like fluoride?
Well, he could think about changing his handle. “Half-baked Alaska” sounds more appropriate.

A man needs machine guns in Iowa in case some Capone guys from Chicago hiding out try to muscle the locals.
