Yup, that’s part of what money laundering is about. Find a way to make illegal income look legal, and paying taxes is part of that. If you are making a ton of money, and you are a conspicuous spender, but there is no apparent income on the books to account for it and you’re not paying taxes, you might as well wear an “I Am A Criminal” t-shirt and eat your lunch right outside of a federal law enforcement building.

This is somewhat local for me. What I heard on our local broadcast was that the caller stressed that the kids were holding a TOY gun. However, the print stuff I found didn’t say this after my quick skim. Grand Rapids has a real problem with this, and their so called training doesn’t seem to be helping.
