Anybody know how legal issues/arrests/charges work in Romania? He’s apparently been released, so is that it? I would love to hear that he will not get off the hook easily.
I assumed that he posted bond and is out on bail…
Wait a minute. This asshole is supposed to be a world class chess player? Kick boxer, sure, whatever, never heard of him. But CHESS, um what?? You need to be very good at strategy for chess.
Well, we’ve all heard of him now. 
Maybe I am mistaken about him being released. I thought I read that, but Reuters posted a story about an hour ago that is written as if he is still detained. So confused.
ETA: Okay, so he’s expected in court today but his lawyer claims he was released after 24 hours?
A lawyer for Andrew and Tristan Tate told CNN that the brothers were expected to appear in court later Friday. He stressed that Andrew Tate was not under arrest. “He was not arrested. He was detained for 24 hours,” said the lawyer, Eugen Vidineac.
There’s a video of him being released from an earlier arrest. It’s being promoted by his followers as the current arrest.
Okay, that explains some of my confusion then. I’m seeing stuff that says released, no charges, but it’s Tate trolls.
ETA: I’ve heard of him vaguely and what a trashpot he is but didn’t know he’d been arrested before and exactly what all he was doing, just that he was a big fat misogynist with a following.
I assume that the 24 hours on that isn’t up yet, and that the lawyer is claiming that he will only be detained for 24 hours.
Though how a 24 hour detention isn’t considered to be an arrest I don’t understand.
I’m considering that to be lawyer-speak for “Wow, the rules are REALLY DIFFERENT in Romania!”

Tate wasn’t found via pizza, say Romanian authorities. Also, he and his brother are being held for at least 30 days.
