I know this is weak by the standards of this thread, but it just struck me as a weirdly gushing thing for someone in the position of FIFA president to say, implying that there will be a formal FIFA request. Competitive performative mourning.
I mean, I know he’s a legend and all, but there are only so many stadiums and a lot of reasons to name them. Even the attempt to name a stadium in Brazil after him failed. I somehow doubt that we’ll be seeing Pelé Stadium in Chad or Bhutan or Kazakhstan.
Well. I was in scouting. A few years after I left the troop, I was riding home on the city bus when it stopped at our polytechnic HS and a horde of students got on.
This was the school that only admitted its first female student a couple years before that. These were teenage boys who spent most of the day away from the company of females. They were exactly as I remember the boys in my troop.
I mean, seriously, does anyone really think that boy scouts are trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent? All the ones I knew were disgusting randy fuckwads. Probably mostly from being around me.
The kukri is pointy enough to act as a pick, so in combination with the folding shovel that lives next to it in the storage area of the car, I can hopefully dig my way out of trouble if I have to. It also can break car windows, slice through seat belts and do other nifty things.
Hope Hicks: Trump made us ‘all look like domestic terrorists’
17:05 , John Bowden
Text messages between Hope Hicks, a former top aide to Donald Trump, and Ivanka Trump’s chief of staff were released by the January 6 committee alongside their final report this weekend.
In the texts, the reclusive Ms Hicks is vocal about her feelings in the immediate wake of January 6, which she describes as making every single member of the Trump White House virtually unemployable.
“We all look like domestic terrorists now,” she wrote in one message, adding: “I’m so mad and upset.”
This is Hope HICKS texting with who I believe is Ivanka’s chief of staff Julie Radford, concerned that Trump has made them all appear to be “domestic terrorists.” Redford agrees.
“Alyssa looks like a genius,” Hicks says about Alyssa Farah Griffin’s decision to leave admin early. pic.twitter.com/lXExpESDlg
Ummm…I actually have all of that in the car. Right down to the change of clothes.
Of course, there is a tool kit and a trauma kit in the car as well. But noooo…just because I have a kukri, shovel, gloves, rope, duct tape, a tarp, contractor bags and a few other things it means I’m evil, mean and nasty.
