Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 1)

Pretty much, yes.

Actually, she is considered one.

Maybe even the prototype. She’s like Influencer Patient Zero.

I don’t know. I mean, I support the hotel owner in his smackdown of the so-called “influencer” wanting a free stay, but the second part (charging her for the exposure, especially to the level of millions-of-euros) makes him seem like a jerk. Also it looks like the incident took place three years ago (I assume the date of the invoice is 2020/1/18 and not 20/1/2018) so I wonder why this is making news now?

Of course he’s not serious. The joke is that the “influencer” was serious. He’s just showing her how ridiculous she looks. I’m wondering if that sunk in for her.

Ah, a kind of “Reductio ad absurdum”! Ok, I can believe that.

A Modest Proposal for Influencers

Election denier who claims that he can’t appear in court in Colorado because of his health and because he lives in another state, is found to have voted in Colorado after he claims to have moved out of state.

It cracks me up how these election fraud alarmists repeatedly get caught committing election fraud, thus proving how hard it is to get away with election fraud.

Well, they know for sure that there is election fraud.

Because they’re committing it.

And he got caught lying about it too, in my reading of that article. He says he acted on advice of the Colorado Department of State; however, the department has no record of such a conversation nor do they give legal advice. Let’s note also how the election fraud shouters have condemned people who have, in fact, acted on advice of a state agent and registered to vote and voted when they were not legally eligible to vote.

Ah, the smell of hypocricy in the morning!

Every accusation is a confession.

What is somewhat fascinating to me is that in general folks like this aren’t just popping off with this nonsense just to their families and randos at the local pub. No, they are making themselves into public figures. Maybe it’s just me, but if I were to hatch some maybe not precisely legal plan, I damn sure wouldn’t publicize myself!

New Jersey man arrested for hiring a hit man to kill the 14-year-old boy whom he was sending porn to, so that he couldn’t testify against him.

Social Media strikes again: apparently Big Egg and Big Feed are in cahoots to stop hens from laying and drive up egg prices.

Social media users claim to have found a new culprit for sky-high egg prices: chicken feed.

The theory gained steam on Facebook, TikTok and Twitter in recent weeks, with some users reporting that their hens stopped laying eggs and speculating that common chicken feed products were the cause. Some went a step further to suggest that feed producers had intentionally made their products deficient to stop backyard egg production, forcing people to buy eggs at inflated prices.

“One of the largest egg producers in the country cut a deal with one of the largest feed producers in the country to change their feed formula so it no longer contains enough protein and minerals for your chickens to produce eggs,” one Facebook user wrote in a post shared more than 2,000 times. “They are now price gouging eggs to make bank.”

My heart is full today with that good old hometown pride:

This sort of thing seems to occur with alarming frequency at high school/college ball games, but it never ceases to amaze me, still.

I’m not a sports fan, but I recognize – at its best – the positive impact that sports can have on a child. Like so many things, though, I also recognize how corrupted it can be when we fail to tamp down the worst instincts of players, fans, etc.

In the middle of a GD war where his country is under siege…

Also, I don’t care if this was read from a script. Pure class:

“This has been an extremely difficult and challenging year with my family and loved ones so far away and living in constant danger,” Shulga said. “I pray daily for the conflict to come to a close and for peace to be restored for my people in Ukraine.”

Man, I’d be so ashamed if one of my children did that. I do not understand it.

“Do something that will hurt the other person.” No more than that. Power means being able to inflict pain, and the purpose of the pain IS the pain, as Orwell put it.

Uh, these folks are aware that backyard chickens (that is, ones exposed to natural daylight/dark cycles) slow down or stop laying in the winter, right?

That’s just what the Big Solar Corporations want you to believe! Connect the dot, sheeple! They’re harvesting the sun so we won’t have any!

What a very Monty Burns conspiracy theory:
