Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 1)

If ever I could be a fly in the wall, it would be to witness how on earth that firearm could have somehow managed to discharge into Brazilian lawyer’s stomach.

Squicky-looking laptop repairman could maybe use eyebrows*, for starters.

So one of his middle names is “Mac”, then?

*ok so they’re a light wispy blonde, then. Sure, still gross, creepy.

I have a concealed carry permit, because I couldn’t get one in my native home. I have a CCP because I can have one. But I never actually carry a firearm. Haven’t even been to the range in like 15 years. My card is a novelty.

Same with me. Well, actually I let my CPL expire (Concealed Pistol License is what they call it around here), it’s a hassle to renew it and I never carry anyway.

That’s probably what they call it here, too.

I think they call it that because it’s specifically for pistols (well, revolvers too, so it should be called a Concealed Handgun License I guess). It doesn’t cover things like knives.

It seems wacky but I can carry a gun legally but not a fixed-blade knife of any length in Washington State (at least not concealed, you are fine if it’s on your hip in plain view). I read of a case where a girl was charged as a minor for just carrying a paring knife in her pocket.

Also, depending on the city, I can’t carry a folding knife with a blade longer than 3 1/2 inches (and to be safe, I make sure not to carry any knife anywhere with a blade longer than 3 inches).

That’s what happens when you have pro-gun lobbyists, but no pro-knife lobbyists.

I see we are in the same state. CPL seems strange to me. I should be able to carry my AR-180 under my coat! LOL

Because you never know when the Shit Is Going to go Down. Gotta be ready when the madman boyfriend of the MRI tech decides to come in and shooot everyone. Without a Goodguy With A Gun ™ then what?

“Are you carrying anything metal?”

“How dare you ask me! I have the God-given Constitutional right not to answer that question!”

“Suit yourself…”

It’s different now in Texas (open carry, so there’s no more Concealed Handgun License but a License to Carry Handgun) but back in the day, the CHL had two classifications, one that did not cover semiautomatics and one that covered all handguns. The distinction hasn’t been important for several decades but it wasn’t really high on the list of priorities to change, either.

Turn on the MRI machine.

Well sure, Dr Science!

so, ahem … entering lowjack territory?

Just wait until the swiss at Victorinox get wind of this

No Goodguy necesary … the MRI will take his weapon away - consistently and very convincingly … (but then again, he might get away with a Glock-Quality-Firearm

A 14 year old girl in New Jersey was assaulted in school, and the school never notified the police. She then committed suicide a few days later. And now the school superintend is claiming it’s her fault for doing drugs, for having a father who was having an affair, and a mother who committed suicide.

I thought they already were packing.

Crap factory.

It might find cancer cells in her, and you want to have that thing loaded and chambered so that you will be able to shoot those damn interlopers dead on the spot.

I am sure Victorinox is sharp to get their slice of the cake …

I suspect they might even try to steel some marketshare from gun sales

Historically, wouldn’t the right ‘to bear arms’ include edged weapons? Thinking man-at-arms. So since Alito goes back to the 13th century for abortion law, I would think laws restricting my right to carry the edged weapon of my choice must fall, also (and possibly bashing weapons like maces, also).

This is where I begin to totally regret the unwieldiness of my trebuchet.

It didn’t hit him in the head, though.
