And remember, this is the guy that was (almost) attacked, in court, by the father of one of those victims.
And I think another asked for ten minutes alone with him. I’d be more supportive of attacks like these if A) they had any practical beneficial effect and B) didn’t make prison less safe.
Yeah, it’s just about vengeance, not anything that truly helps society. The first time I was abused I was really little, younger than my son is now. My at the time stepfather confessed to my mother one morning so this ended up being a whole court thing and he went to prison. I remember very little of it. My Mom said she received more than one offer to have him killed in prison.
I can see better from a parent’s perspective how painful this must be, but I can’t help but think when a parent goes after a perp, “Your kid has just been deeply traumatized and now you’re going to traumatize them more by having one of their major sources of support thrown in prison?” That’s how I felt when I read that story about the man who took revenge on his daughter’s rapist by burning his genitals. Like now you’ve taken her father away from her, you idiot.
It was the same guy who charged him. The judge said he couldn’t be allowed time alone with the guy, so he stood for a second or two and charged.
Yeah, I remember thinking if I was a bailiff I’d hesitate long enough for the father to get in a good lick or two before pulling him off. “It was so unexpected, your honor, I froze in surprise.”
I think this qualifies:
Well we do have a specific “stupid Republican idea of the day” thread too…
So many places it fits!
They’re so accommodating and versatile!
Like an amoeba in so many ways.
Good dog this guy has got to be kidding. I guess he is filling *ucker’s shoes.
Can anyone imagine trump parked in a beach chair (that he of course would properly have a flunky carry for him ) Ugh! Now that would be humiliating. Not to mention vomit inducing.
“We don’t want to see the president humiliating himself like this – barely dragging his beach chair across the sand. Isn’t there a staffer who could do that, by the way? Maybe a Secret Service agent?”
~ Fox News host, Jesse Watters
Who else remembers when a Marine just holding an umbrella near Obama was an impeachable offense?
To be fair, the glare off that much pasty white skin would likely blind you before you actually saw anything vomit inducing
And if my answer is yes, I have been molested, along with, yes, someone very close to me was raped, what is your response? As a matter of fac, as I believe I metioned on this site before, the answer to both is yes. Vigilantism is not justice. And a prisoner murdering another prisoner is not only injustice, it’s a complete abdication of societal responsibility.
Whether an individual like this monstrous doctor deserves pain and death is irrelevant - society is made less just, and less safe, when rampant violence is allowed (much less encouraged) in prisons.
And if an agent did move the chair for him, they’d just accuse him of “elitism” or something. .
I agree. It’s not about them; it’s about the rest of us.
That said, while I would prefer non-stabby prisons I’m not feeling much sympathy for Nassar either. I would rather not think about him at all.
“Too old and senile to even move a beach chair.”
Trump would be carried to the beach in a sedan chair.
I agree with you, but I think you can believe those things and still be happy when bad things happen to bad people. I’m not describing my own feelings but trying to allow for others.
I think you’re missing the point. Trump would never allow himself to be seen in such humiliating circumstances (i.e. being old). He would be on his own private beach, with privacy screens all around, and drone patrols to keep away the hoi polloi news video cameras.
