Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 1)

They do?

Basically:

Well, I imagine the Hershey Company, who owns the brand, isn’t completely ignorant of who consumes their product.

4 stars for “the package arrived withing 72 hours

re-phrasing “they know or should have known / should consider the possibility of the product being acquired by kids”

I for one, would not be surprised if a certified letter comes in within the next couple of days.

A man tried to paddle from Florida to London in a homemade vehicle he called a “bubble.” He was stopped by the Coats Guard and threatened to blow himself up, but after three days surrendered. The Bomb was a fake. Not the first time he’s tried something similar. I think he needs help. Florida man arrested after trying to cross Atlantic in hamster wheel vessel - BBC News

When schools have been banning the chip since school started last year…

There are times when everybody would be better served by letting the dude go do his thing. That way the only expense/hassle is picking up the tattered remains of his bubble when they float ashore.

This definitely doesn’t belong in the Stupid thread, but I don’t know where else to put it.

A Delta Atlanta-to-Barcelona flight was forced to return to Atlanta because a passenger had a terrible case of diarrhea. Before making it to the commode.

And here is a video of the aftermath, shared via X. Which really makes this submission an XCreteMent.

As someone with chronic IBS this is basically my worst nightmare.

The comments on this were hysterical! The fact that it was considered a biohazard is just hilarious to me. Imagine-- someone ruins a plane by releasing a biohazard from their sphincter. “That’s the shittiest flight you’ll ever be on!”

Is there any actual evidence that extremely spicy food is hazardous?

Or specifically marketed to children.

You’re moving the goal posts by adding the word “specifically”.

Or specifically marketed to children.
But I’d note that one could reasonably infer that “they’re marketing to children” is specific.

" Can eating spicy foods kill you?

“The hottest peppers, like ghost peppers, can kill you. But it’s highly unlikely,” states Dr. Capin. “You would have to eat a huge amount of them. For instance, if you weigh 150 pounds, you would have to eat 3 pounds of ghost peppers to cause a deadly reaction.” The rule of thumb, he says, is to not eat more than 1/50th of your weight in hot peppers."

From here.

And there’s at least one (other) documented case of a chili fatality.

In India.

Or related to that incident on the plane?

Sarah Palin believes insurrectionist leaders are good guys.

GOP firebrand Sarah Palin said Tuesday the prison time recently given to insurrectionists in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack “makes the good guy think, ‘What’s the use in being a good guy?’”

Context, please.
