And now the stupid MFers on all the news programs are outdoing themselves in hagiographizing Kirk.
Is there any way to get Q-Anon, Newsmax, et al. to suggest that Charlie Kirk was killed in an attempt to distract from the Epstein files? I’d love to watch the MAGA cultists’ heads explode.
Well, people are talking about it. Here at least.
But getting it on Q-Anon and/or Newsmax would be like inserting a virus into the Borg Collective. I wish I knew how.
When I was flown tofrom Dover to Keflavik by TAC the plane stopped at the terminal and the door opened to admit an Air force sergeant who exclaimed, “Welcome to Iceland!”
Somewhere in the back came, “Iceland! I was supposed to go to Thule!” I have no idea how it happened as, although there were no tickets, per se, our hardcopy orders were scrutinized pretty closely.
Actually it was in the DC area. IAD (Dulles) and DCA (National) are not that far apart, but traffic can be an impediment to going from one to the other. Because DCA has no customs or immigration facilities, it does not have very many international flights, and my friend was flying to an international destination, hence the assumption it was from IAD.

Years ago, I was flying from Tokyo to Salt Lake City, transferring at Portland.
For the flight from Portland to SLC, we had to walk down onto the tarmac then go to the plane.
On the plane, there was a Japanese mother and her daughter and they were talked very excitedly about arriving in San Francisco soon.
I asked them where they were going and they said San Francisco. I told them the plane was heading for SLC.
Fortunately, the plane hadn’t taken off yet, and calling the flight attendant got things straightened out.
It appears that the next gate also had the same method and for some reason they went into the wrong airplane. Because the flight wasn’t that full, they happened to have seats that weren’t occupied. They got lucky to be seated by someone who speaks Japanese, or they would have gone to the wrong destination.
Job applicant explains his drug test result:
“Look, that wasn’t my fault! I was riding in a car, and I stuck my head out of the window. We passed under a bridge and someone threw a bunch of cocaine off the bridge! It hit him me in the face and I accidentally inhaled it!”
Eh, sounds logical. Let him go!
I can’t find it now, but I remember seeing a picture of a flat tire with the caption ‘save this picture and send it to your boss when you want a day off’, and the boss replying to that with 'You weren’t supposed to send me the entire screenshot.
I remember getting a call from someone’s very, very young sounding ‘mom’ saying that her daughter was sick and couldn’t come in today. Even if I actually believed that to be her mom, I could clearly hear the school bell going off and the hallway filling with kids.
Back when color copiers were rare and I worked at Kinkos, and knowing I’d be fired for replicating money, government IDs, etc., I did fulfill a request to make a fake death notice, Jesus baring his bloody heart and all, so a customer could attend the funeral of a nonexistent aunt. Unpaid time off, so legally not fraud. “Go clock out and come back and finish this up” creates that kind of worker solidarity.
One of my favorite jokes as a kid:
[Voice forced low] “Timmy Johnson is sick and won’t be able to attend school today.”
“I’m sorry to hear that. And who is this?”
“This is my father.”
I wrote a note once from my father and misspelled his name.
Proud boy now a sad boy.
He got the hurts because nobody was worshipping him.
Wavered between ‘Evil’ and ‘Stupid’ on this one, but at this point it doesn’t seem to have been intentional. Just mind-numbingly stupid.
Fourteen staff members at a US animal shelter have been taken to hospital after the FBI used an incinerator at the facility to burn two pounds of seized methamphetamine.
Staff and some 75 cats and dogs were evacuated from the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter in Billings, Montana, when the building filled with smoke on Wednesday.
The incinerator is usually used by animal control officers to dispose of euthanised animals, but local authorities said it can also be used by law enforcement to burn seized narcotics.
---------------------------------------------Shelter executive director Triniti Halverson said she was unaware that a drug burn was happening.
“I can firmly and confidently say that, as the Executive Director, I did not know that they were disposing of extremely dangerous narcotics onsite,” she wrote in a statement.
“My team and my animals had been confirmed to have been exposed to meth,” she said.
Before evacuating themselves, many employees put on masks and helped get the animals out.
Some staff were exposed to the smoke for more than an hour, and several began to feel sick. All 14 went to the emergency room, where they spent about three hours in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber to combat the effects of smoke inhalation.
FBI spokesperson Sandra Barker told CBS News that the agency routinely uses outside facilities for controlled drug evidence burns.
---------------------------------------------Calling the incident “heartbreaking”, Halverson is asking the public for donations to source supplies like dog and cat food, blankets and bottles.
“We are displaced, lost, and homeless. For many of us — staff, volunteers, and fosters — YVAS is our safe space,” she said.
As the Perfect Master once said, things can get pretty strange in Montana at times. But this … this is ridiculous.
It’s what the voters wanted.
Trump’s FBI can’t stop winning. So much winning.
I signed a school note for my daughter once and it was sent back because they didn’t recognize the signature. So she signed it and it was fine.
Well, I made up my own excuse note to get out of phy ed in maybe (?) fifth grade. And it was accepted, no questions.
That just makes me think of The Simpsons.
Also, when I worked at Toys R Us, I had a supervisor who learned I could draw, and asked me if I could copy his signature. It was a really simple one, so I did, and then he had me sign stuff for him all the time.
I’m a bit disappointed in myself that I never once abused that.
