There was an old edition of the D&D rulebooks, where the writers decided partway through that they wanted to be consistent about referring to the fireball-slinging class as “wizard”, rather than a mix of that and the synonym “mage”. Which they accomplished by doing a find-and-replace of “mage” for “wizard”. Except that they didn’t tell the find-and-replace tool to only do complete words, so things like “damage” got turned into “dawizard”.
Belittling other people and being able to say the “N word” aloud are now part of “Conservative Christian Values”.
I mean, I always figured that was the case based on observation of the language and espoused ideas of certain groups of “conservatives” and certain groups of “Christians.” It’s useful that Ms. Boltinhouse has opened her mouth and removed all doubt.
And yeah, a 17 year old in 2017 absolutely knows what a racial epithet is and why it’s wrong. If she didn’t it’s because she’s already well on the path to being a psychologically broken person. If, at the age of 27, she had apologized and expressed regret for her earlier choice of language, I might be willing to consider the possibility of a teenagers lack of perspective and life experience. But all she did was double down aggressively on being wrong. That’s all you really need to know about people like that.
(And I say “possibility” because the fact of the matter is a lot of other variables would almost certainly have to be taken into account. But that would have been the bare minimum first step.)
Matthew 5:10-12 (King James Version) Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
The above being the root of the Christian persecution complex.
(Jesus said Christians would be reviled and persecuted therefore if you, as a Christian, are not reviled and ‘’‘persecuted’‘’ you are not Christianing correctly. to the Westboro Baptist Church and the New Independent Fundamental Baptists!)
That law firm seems to like getting into high profile controversies. It’s also representing a luxury homebuilder suing competitors he claims have used AI imagery to accuse him of having extramarital sex with clients. The defendants’ response is…interesting.
