Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 2)

That’s crazy. She must not have known you were a Doper.

Heh.

Given the article indicates one orca was small enough to be the young of the larger one, the guy is lucky he didn’t get chomped, or body-slammed himself.

We’ll see how funny they think it is the next time they are out in the boat and this orca and his buddies find them and decide it’s their turn to have some fun.

Antisemite fucked around and found out. What she found out is threatening to cut people’s heads off lands one in the federal penitentiary for 32 months.

A Riverside woman who bombarded the former executive director of Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue with phone calls and threatening voicemails — the first coming just months after the deadliest antisemitic attack on U.S. soil — has been sentenced to almost three years in prison, according to court documents.

Melanie Harris, 59, hurled antisemitic slurs, vowed violence, including beheadings, and used “vile and inflammatory language,” according to a Miami-based FBI agent.

You’ll never see me defending gun nuts. However, in the case of Hagerich, at least, his story seems plausible (viz, that the bullets were forgotten about, at the bottom of a forgotten-about bag that he busted out of storage for this cruise trip). So who’s the Stupid MF here: the American who didn’t think to inspect his bags for contraband (in foreign lands) before taking them to a foreign land, or the TCI government apparatus perhaps over-zealously prosecuting a slightly-dumb tourist?

I say both.

This might better have gone in the “evil” thread.

Obviously, they don’t conisider it over-zealous. Not all countries have the same relationship with guns and ammo as the US.

Of course not. Nor do I expect them to give Americans a pass because Freedom. I just think 12 years for a (probably) honest mistake is a bit much. Also, there’s the matter that ammo is useless without a gun, and he’s not accused of bringing guns. Nor was he accused of trafficking a large amount – half a dozen small-caliber bullets, IIRC. I think the sentence he got was more than fair.

Forgetting live rounds in your bag isn’t an “honest mistake”, it’s gross negligence. A responsible gun owner has full control of their ammo.

Meh, I’ll go with toxic douchebag totally aware of the situation.

Agreed. Call me morbid, but I always like to put a face to awfulness - no pic of her, well, yet anyway.

That’s a real “man bites dog” story.

I’d make a joke about what happens when a dog catches a car it’s chasing but I don’t want to be rude.

Get the Darwin Award ready…

Hey, look! A member of a species that great white sharks fear - let’s go annoy it! It won’t use those pointy gripping teeth on us! It won’t grab a leg and hold us underwater for 10 minutes!

Nope.

Just the tourist.

You may or may not agree with the Turks & Caicos view of ammunition but it’s their countries and their laws. Especially since every country I’m aware of is happy to tell you what is and is not allowed when you apply for an entry visa.

I mean, I’m glad for the man who got a suspended sentence rather than 12 years in jail, but I don’t have any sympathy for him. American 2nd amendment rights stop at the international border. Make sure you clean out your luggage before packing.

Depends on the sub.

It doesn’t say he’ll take a carbon fiber death trap sub down.

If he takes one of conventional engineering down he should be just fine as, aside from the OceanGate stupidity, there’s never been a fatality for that type of small submersible diving. Because everyone else wasn’t/isn’t being stupid.

Both petty evil and stupid (for keeping the evidence).

Name not given. Could it be Dennis?

Or is Mr. Wilson setting up a false flag? He’s just trying to lure Dennis out of hiding.

I was thinking it could also be Bart Simpson.
