The Jerry Springer Show: Sherman’s Lagoon Edition!
How do they consider strategic pens?
I Googled “strategic pen” and it took me to here:
That’s a pen with the logo for “A Place For Mom”, which I believe is a senior care referral company. Which was not what I expected to end up with.
We need someone with a tactical pen go up against someone with a sword.
Settle the matter once and for all.
He wrote a check his ass can cash.
“Whirligig?” “Potato Peeler”? Never heard those slang terms. And I’ve certainly never injured myself with one.
Just fists.
I’d pay good money for that.
Top of TMZ this morning, a story from just down the road from me:
Summary: Parents get a call from the day care that their kid is sick and they need to pick him up. They get there and he’s sick and bruised. They take him to the hospital, hospital finds drugs in his system. Cops find the same drugs at the daycare.
This could probably be in the ‘evil’ thread, but we clearly don’t have all the details yet. I have several questions I’m waiting for answers on before this IMO goes to the evil thread. Namely, we don’t know if it was evil (on purpose) or stupid (accidental). I have a few other questions, but hopefully they’ll be answered shortly since they get a bit too close to “If I’m wrong, I’m the asshole for even asking” territory. Plus, they’ll likely be answered as soon as the lawsuit gets going, if not sooner.
As being discussed in the Oceangate thread in MPSIMS, Connor is hiring Triton Submarines to build the sub for him. Triton has built 25 submersibles with a perfect safety record. All are certified by the DNV, including one with an “unlimited” depth certification. If you’re a billionaire who wants a submersible, this is the correct way to do it.
I had to look that up. I assume they’re talking about TRITON 36,000/2. The cite says it’s submersible down to 11,000m. Which, I suppose, could be considered “unlimited” since the Mariana Trench is 10,984m deep.
Well yeah. They mean you can take it as deep as you can in Earth’s ocean, not into the liquid hydrogen layer on Jupiter.
Calling Into Court For Your Suspended License Charge While Driving Is Next Level Dumb
Earlier this month a Washtenaw County, Michigan man was ordered to appear before the court on a video conference for driving on a suspended license. Corey Harris called in to his court date from the driver’s seat of his car, while driving. With a suspended license.
If you’re looking after a kid you don’t give them coke on purpose, you’re gonna want to give them something to mellow them out not rile them up.
As I started writing out my “I’m an asshole for even asking” questions, I think I came to a logical way this could have happened. Taking everything we know at face value, I’ll bet the daycare provider had the coke on them, lost it and the kid ate it. That, I think, explains how the kid got coke in their system, how they had enough in their system to cause a positive drug test result and would also explain why the kid was “incredibly sick”. As for why they drug tested the kid in the first place, maybe a doc recognized the symptoms or maybe someone knew something (ie maybe the parents suspected the worker did coke or someone tipped them off that it might be the case or they found the baggie etc).
At least if the coke is mostly coke, the kid will probably be fine. That day care worker is really, really lucky they didn’t get coke that was laced with fentanyl. I’ve known people that have died that way.
Unrelated: Cutting cocaine with fentanyl never made sense to me. Just stick to the shitty, but safe, fillers and leave the fentanyl out of it. That would be like driving through Starbucks on your way to work and finding out they ran out of espresso for your drink so they used Nyquil instead. Yes, caffeine and diphenhydramine are ‘both drugs’*, but they send you in opposite directions.
*when I ask this question I often get ‘they’re both drugs’ as an answer. Then I end up explaining the difference between opiates and cocaine while dancing around the fact that my knowledge of the subject comes from experience (did lots and lots of ‘research’ in college).
I mean, it looks like sugar. I knew a kid once who ate fly poison because it looks identical to Nerds candy; tiny little multicolored nuggets. He had to go to the hospital to have his stomach pumped but was fine. It happens.
Of course, fly poison is something that has a legitimate use. Even if you’re okay with recreational drug use, having it where you take care of kids is unconscionable. Not only because the kids could get ahold of it, but are you on drugs when you are taking care of them?!
My grandparents barely survived a savage attack from a guy high on cocaine who was hallucinating (he slit their throats but they were able to call 911, and he got caught and thrown in prison). While I’m sure that not every cocaine user has a psychosis, it happens.
Is it the user it makes sense to, or the seller?
I had the impression that a lot of the people taking fentanyl didn’t know that was what they were getting; and had leapt to the (possibly inaccurate) conclusion that it’s a cheaper kick for the dealer to buy, and that’s why they were cutting (presumably more expensive) cocaine with it.
Admittedly, risking killing one’s customers doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, either.
Speaking as someone who was once an IV opioid addict and later practiced addiction medicine, it’s the user it makes sense to. In their mind, hearing of fatalities means the product has more bang for the buck, and that other user that died was a lightweight who didn’t know what they were doing, plus they’re currently jonesing so bad in the moment they’ll risk a hot shot (with its risks) for the expectation of immediate relief.
But would you have used opiates that someone told you they laced with meth or coke? More drugs equals more higher, but again, opposite directions.
That too. And it’s not just the street level dealers that would be worried about that. The big time dealers don’t want their end-users dying either. On top of that, they’re putting more eyes on their business, which they probably don’t want.
I think a lot of the people that accidentally OD on something with fentanyl in it didn’t realize it was in there to begin with. Though when I used to poke around on the dark web, I saw plenty of people selling (fake) Oxycodone or Xanax pills cut with fentanyl, and in those cases, the purchaser knew what they were getting as it was specified in the listing. I’m sure plenty of those buyers were of the ‘I’ll be fine’ mentality.
And to reiterate, while I don’t agree with it, I understand why a dealer or user would add fentanyl to opiates or benzos, I just don’t understand why they’d to it to cocaine (sold as cocaine, not some type of ‘mix’ ie speedball)
When I was 25, my uncle died of a drug overdose. He was 30 years old, leaving behind a 10 year old son. Nine years later, his son died of a drug overdose at age 19. That’s two people in my family I’ve lost to this shit. In both cases I think they got way more than they were anticipating.
