Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 2)

Security guard is assaulted and does an interview with the local news. During the LIVE interview, his supervisor starts scolding him for doing the interview in his work clothes. He changes into street clothes and tries to resume the interview, but she keeps on yelling at him.
He quit. I assume the internet has found her by now.
I don’t understand why she’d do this on the air. How stupid. I assume there’s some bad blood between them already. You’d think she’d wait until it was over then let him know he can’t do an interview in uniform. Even if this is a blatant violation and he’s aware of it, again, why not wait until it’s over. He’s wearing a badge, a patch and a name tag, so the security company’s name was out there as soon as they started broadcasting.

In the security camera footage of the assault, he’s the one in the bright white shirt. The supervisor shows up around the 3 min mark.

And here’s the TMZ page where I saw it

I doubt the supervisor will lose her job, but I suspect she’s going to get a stern talking-to about making the company look bad.

I suppose this belongs in another thread, but a “reporter” from an unnamed network went to Seattle to talk to people who live there about the “hellscape” that that city has become. Seattlites tore the man a new mouth hole to shit from.

It was hilarious.

And, yet, the show aired his interview footage, embarrassing as it was, declaring that Seattlites were “embracing the decay”.

No, it’s a news story and a stupid MFer is in it. I think it’s very relevant.

I think I told the story about when my teenaged daughter came up here a couple of years ago to visit and her boyfriend came along, and he remarked to me that he had been told that the area around here was just destroyed by liberals and everything was in shambles. I asked him if that’s what he saw when we went on trips to places around here, and he said no, not even close.

A coworker told me about a Fox segment he saw where they were interviewing people who shamelessly took advantage of the welfare system, and one of them was pretty much a caricature of the California surfing dude. He was obviously putting on a show and the interviewer seriously portrayed him as the ambassador of welfare cheats.

Ah but you see… that’s part their story to their audience: the city dwellers are themselves corrupted into indifference and actually kind of like Bad Things. Therefore what they think say and want should not count, only what we Real Americans™ do.

Stupid MFers built soccer fields on top of an active limestone mine. Sinkhole ensues.

But wait, there’s more!
Company, Pritzker release statements on mine collapse at Alton soccer field

There were no injuries, but the park remains closed, leaving scheduled baseball and softball games postponed. Spencer T. Olin Golf Course, also has been temporarily closed as the cause of the mine collapse is investigated.

That region of Illinois and for a couple hundred miles farther south is riddled with all sorts of underground mines. If you had to build stuff only where there isn’t a mine underneath the entire south half of the state would need to be de-populated and returned to forest.

I have to say that because the field was covered in fake grass, the way the grass carpet lays over the edge of the hole really, really, makes it look like that was an AI generated still in the YouTube splash screen. I’m not suggesting it’s fake, just that it looks fake.

The north part of the state as well. Lots of limestone has been taken out the ground throughout Illinois. If you eliminated anything above a mine good luck finding a place to live.

Well, OK, the City of Chicago isn’t above a mine. It’s above a former swamp.

Tractor Supply said it would be eliminating all of its diversity, equity and inclusion roles while retiring current DEI goals.

The company added that it would “stop sponsoring nonbusiness activities” such as Pride festivals or voting campaigns — and no longer submit data to the Human Rights Campaign, the largest advocacy group for LGBTQ+ rights in the U.S.

At the moment, their facebook page is a warzone.

That was what made me cancel my account with them and swear they will never get another dime of my business. Informed them of that by email as well. Fuck 'em.

We ain’t seen nuthin yet.

The Tractor Supply website says, “Further focus on rural America priorities including ag education, animal welfare, veteran causes and being a good neighbor and stop sponsoring nonbusiness activities like pride festivals and voting campaigns.” So a pride festival is non-business but supporting veteran causes, emergency response or animal shelters are business-related?

It’ll sure garner them more business from the monoculture most of their customers represent.

Fishermen find bottles of random liquid floating in the ocean, drink them, die.

I guess I’ll have to consider shopping at Rural King instead of Tractor Supply. RK still has a diversity page.

I’m really really trying to come up with an apt variation on the old joke that goes like:

Well, they weren’t the [most something] in the [collection of somethings].

as in “sharpest knife in the drawer”, etc.

“Not the smartest fishermen in the sea” is close but falls flat. Anyone care to take a swig at this one?

Not the sharpest gutting knife on the boat?

How about “Not the sharpest hooks on the line”?
