It’s pure trollery. A pattern that is evident among the subjects of this thread and just from general observation is that being a fuckwit and being a troll aren’t mutually exclusive. In fact they almost always go together.
Whether or not he believes the fuckwitted crap he spews about Islam, he posted it in that way and in that thread solely for the effect of aggravating people. I hope he gets a second warning for continuing to troll after getting the first.
I also reported it (not to be mean, but the thread was on its way to a real derailment), and he is indeed suspended for the time being.
One can recognize the impulse to get in one last word before announcing that of course you are going to obey the moderator instruction and stop talking about the thing you are still talking about despite the moderator instruction. But it never works out well.
A handle like “truthseeker2” is an obvious troll tell. Whether a sincere fuckhead or an intentional troll, the pseudonym alone seems like a good reason to presume trollish intent.
IANA SF movie expert. But I sure *thought *the Star Wars blasters had a spew! noise.
If nothing else, once you decide to hear “spew!” it adds a lot of comedy to the otherwise hapless combat scenes. Did not even one of those goons grow up playing FPS?
Idle Thoughts didn’t announce the length, he just said it’s “for now.” It sounds like it may just go straight into a ban if enough mods reach a consensus.
It’s unfortunate you seem to be so sympathetic to trolls. As I’ve mentioned, I find this thread quite helpful in dispensing with them (including the one you called “troll hysteria.”)
Again, troll is one thing, sock is another. When have you dispensed of a previously unwarned poster for trolling? Other than Squirrel Cub perhaps. Can’t think of another.
I’ve personally instabanned around 80 trolls of that kind, smart guy. The other mods have banned hundreds more. (This isn’t even counting socks of banned trolls, of which there are hundreds more.) You can’t think of them because they and their posts are in the cornfield. They usually don’t last long enough for most posters to see them.
