Omnibus Trolls R Us Thread

This is the same genius who wants a cheap health insurance plan that only covers stitches, nothing else. Summary version: if you ever need more than stitches, you may as well die.

The same highly informed logic is applied to climate change. Summary version: nothing to worry about, an ice age is coming. (Needless to say, everything in that post is wrong – not just a few things, everything.)

Or maybe he believes that climate change can be fixed with stitches. It makes as much sense as anything else he ever posts.

If it was, it would be equally bad. Canada would cease to exist and my state would be under a mile or two of ice.

Canada would not cease to exist, as such, it would just be a very different place. I read recently that research suggests humans did not cross the ice bridge, they actually lived on the Beringia ice shelf for centuries/millennia.

from the Weisshund quote:

Bolding mine. I probably didn’t read this correctly, so - he somehow, then, created a bloody, leaking hole in himself?
And…how…did he create this bloody, leaking hole in himself in the first place?
I guess I could have read the thread, but my spidey sense says that wouldn’t have provided any answer. I’m hoping he was trying to out-Ron Obvious himself by attempting psychic surgery on his stomach.

A deranged, unstable mind wants to know.

(this is reminding me of a splendidly gruesome Joyce Carol Oates short story - title escapes me)

He was probably referring to a putative blood leaking hole, such as one might make whilst using a table saw in conjunction with whisky. But in the white dog’s case, it would more likely be the result of becoming so enraged at something he read on the internets that that vein in his temple could not withstand the increase in blood pressure.

Beringia was not an ice bridge or ice shelf, it was dry land and mostly ice free in summer. But essentially all of Canada would have been under thousands of feet of ice and uninhabitable, although western Alaska was ice free like Beringia.

Way to narrow it down, though. Not just any Oates story, you’re talking about the GRUESOME one.

Unfortunately Weisshund is all too typical of a certain kind of newbie poster who doesn’t know much about anything but is all too eager to inflict his ignorance on all of us. And they can be very persistent, no matter how many times they are corrected.

The one where buddy tries to do surgery on himself. Maybe written in first person, but only 50% sure of that. Almost ten years ago - IIRC he was trying to access something in his brain through his nasal passages while reading form some medical manual.

I honestly don’t understand why anyone would waste their time posting in a thread by Jefferson or BlinkyPinkyDumbass. You know they’re trolls. You know they don’t give a fuck about logic, facts or reality. They just want attention.

It does boggle the mind, doesn’t it.

But I like the recipes.

BlinkyandPinky is gone.

As I asked in the other thread before it got locked, can anyone point me to the warnings?

No warnings given, apparently, but Colibri explains here:

http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=20026991&postcount=87

As I explained in the locked thread, trolling is an instaban offense and doesn’t require prior warnings. However, since Blinkyandpinky’s trolling was mostly in the Pit, where some degree of trolling is tolerated, it required discussion before taking action.

So Blinkyandpinky is gone. What about his (apparent) sock, that other troll, Jefferson?

Gosh, I wonder why more few childrendon’t kill their parents.

Too bad we can’t add recipes to threads out of the Pit.

I just noticed Jefferson in the ATMB thread on trolling complaining about the Pit.
