This isn’t the first time someone from a different profession tried to use their rules to “prove” Jesus. Anyone remember lawyer Josh Mcdowell in the early 1990s with* Evidence That Demands A Verdict*? I knew a guy back then who tried to get me to read that. He later went on to found a franchise megachurch, get kicked out of the megachurch, get divorced by his wife, and start an on-line church. As you might assume, he was a gigantic douchebag.

Given the typical fate of many witnessing threads (closed) and their authors (banned) I simply cannot understand the welcoming attitude the board has to witnessing threads in GD. They’re almost always started by someone who claims to have solid proof of something Biblical and mystical. I don’t think they should be explicitly prohibited, I just think they should be judged critically instead of getting a free pass, and if they fall under the general category of “stupid thread, not really a debate” then IMHO they should be treated accordingly.
Ehh. Sometimes you want to have a vigorous and spirited debate; sometimes you just feel lazy and grateful for an opportunity to kick back and shoot fish in a barrel.
