It’s because they can’t do it in the real world without serious repercussions, so they unleash their pent-up frustrations here, instead. For instance a little while ago our resident knuckle-dragging troglodyte Urbanredneck was subjected to the shocking and demeaning experience of being in the same Walmart checkout line as a woman wearing an Islamic hijab. Obviously the correct thing to do would be to blow her Islamic head off with one of the many guns that I’m sure he and his kind own in abundance, but because of all the namby-pamby liberals that have infested society, this sort of thing is no longer allowed. So all that Urbanredneck and his friends in the Hicksville Walmart could do was glare at her. And then he came home and, still in a murderous rage, started a thread here asking when this sort of nonsense was going to end because he, for one, was thoroughly fed up with it.
I got the sense that that particular one was authentic, but, yes, one can infer from his username that he’s mostly just here to troll.

Urbanredneck believes that everyone is secretly just like him, and he starts these threads hoping to get people to admit that they’re really sexist, racist Neanderthal horndogs too. That’s what his “we are so darn afraid of being open and honest” verbiage is about.
He’s probably chuckling right now about how repressed and inauthentic those Dopers are, and planning his next thread about how girls in revealing swimsuits know perfectly well that they’re giving him a boner, so what’s wrong with telling them?
Most alt-Right trolls do. They think everyone is as much of a shitbag as they are and the ones who won’t admit it are liars and ‘virtue signallers’ who are only pretending to be better people.
The idea that many people are NOT like them just doesn’t compute.
