Omnibus Trolls R Us Thread

He’s always lived in an alternate reality but he does seem to be going off the rails more lately even by his usual standards. This looks like the familiar start of a downward spiral - I foresee a “cooling off” suspension in his future, if only for his own good.

What is crazy about criticizing the government response in Waco? You realize they killed a bunch of children, right?

If criticizing kid-killers is crazy, perhaps I am in an alternate universe, but if it’s ok I’ll stay here.

I’ve visited that alternate universe before. They have some really peculiar music there. 'Realize The Lie', New White Trash - YouTube

Will is absolutely uninterested in conversation. He thinks his political views are way smarter and more ethical than everyone else’s, and he reinforces those beliefs by posted opaquely contemptuous one-liners that draw confused and angry responses from everyone. See? He’s an ethical giant among us munchkins!

I’m sure it’s very gratifying for him.

Yet the ethical bar is so low. The “smart” bar is even lower.

Your opinions have honestly never even registered for me. So I can’t say for sure if you can clear these speed-bump level hurdles. You are on a default setting right now, which here is “dem party hack and potshotter”. Perhaps if you have anything useful or original to say in the future, your opinions will cut through this fog, and I can tell you how well you are doing.

I bet I’ll be with you how fucked up the government response was to the Ruby Ridge incident. But on WACO, not so much, the bulk of the blame has to go to Koresh who had planned on being a martyr for some time and set this whole thing into motion, and was going to take as many with him as possible. He was fucked up on so many levels, I couldn’t count them all. How he was able to convince other men that only he was to sleep with their wives, and not them, I’ll never figure out, but not surprised he justified it with biblical support. It’s been over 20 years since I read some books about him, but I remember he also had a thing for 12 year olds, court documents also back up this claim. Better people to defend than this asshole.

I’m not defending him. There are plenty of nuts out there. The govt fucked up at Waco, if you can’t understand that after making yourself knowledgeable about the event, there’s nothing I can do for you.

The issue was the potential county split. You brought up Waco for some reason like it’s a typical government response to uppity whites. Why not use the Bundys as a more recent example? The only violence occurred when one of them drove through the Fed block. The Feds otherwise kept their distance because they didn’t want another Waco. The Bundys were later acquitted after the bird refuge occupation, so they came out all right for their act of civil disobedience.

You mistake the context in which I brought up Waco. The poster asked me what I would say about an individual property owner that tried to secede. If this happened, I imagine the govt would pull some type of Waco standoff with the guy. Maybe they have learned their lesson, but with so many government agents out there making decisions, who knows how any one of them might react.

The murder of the Bundy conspirator was different, but still troubling.

Nor I for you.

NO Bundy conspirator was ‘murdered’ and re Waco I have two word ‘Gulf Lite’.

I’m sure sending in the napalm launchers isn’t the first option the Feds consider, and to make a decision to take such aggressive action would surely have to come from the top. The Feds know Waco was a huge fuckup, and they don’t want to repeat the experience. They didn’t “murder” the guy who tried to jump their blockade. They gave him plenty of warning, and he had the option of simply walking to town, like so many of his comrades did. He died because of the Darwin principle.

Plus, practically all government employees live by the CYA screed. None of them are going to make a decision to storm the compound unless they’ve got enough documentation to show that they were following orders.

Conspiracies would actually work better if everybody involved was completely loyal to the cause, competent, and unerring in performance of their duties. Watergate is a prime example of conspiracy failure, because the crime was too obvious to escape notice, and those investigated didn’t want to be the only ones going to jail, so they squealed. I doubt anything like that is forming in response to a municipal dispute in the scrublands.

oh goody

Nevertheless, the govt fucks up regularly. Coppers can’t seem to execute a warrant without gunning down unarmed individuals or throwing flash-bangs in baby cribs. The feds botch operations and project unnecessary force all the time. It doesn’t take much for something bad to happen.

Perhaps “pull a Philando Castile” would have been a more appropriate term.

My bad, the magic words weren’t ‘Gulf Lite’ they are ‘Coleman Fuel’,

Not that this will matter at all to certain fuckheads.

Well, you know, the Branch Davidians would not have started the fire if the Feds had not been acting all scary. The Feds should have just left them alone to their child raping. Which was not really rape because the parents gave consent. And, you know, killing even more children a few years later was the appropriate response, because that really taught the Feds a good lesson.

OK, so chalk that up as a possible consequence of secession, and a good reason for those advocating secession *not *to go through with it. You may support their right to secede, but that’s not the best solution to their dilemma.

I was hoping for something more like, “Hey, you’re 21 again!” :frowning:

But, uh, sorry about that gender change thing; you broke the machine going through, so you are stuck like this; better get used to it.
