It’s also mentioned as one of the (very many) runners up in his list of “Top 10 Movies of 1988” column that’s on that site, but unlike the other movies in the column, doesn’t link to a review.
Perhaps the short title causes it not to appear in search results, such as ones for Tom Hanks movies? I don’t know; I’m just speculating. If I had enough motivation, I would go through the Chicago Sun-Times archives to look for it. The movie date is known, so it would probably require only looking through three or four days worth of content.

Apparently it does exist. It is quoted here–googling some of that quote leads to the June 3rd 1988 The Daily Oklahoman from Oklahoma City, [del]Nebraska[/del] Oklahoma, apparently titled “‘Big’ Streamlined version of often-used theme”
HDk reminds me of someone. Come to think of it, he’s got some Cephalopod going, with his Pit hatred.

He reviewed it with Siskel, at least.

Yes, I linked to that Vulture article upthread. But I do remember that on occasion he wouldn’t have a review for a big movie (I followed his review column and other writings pretty closely). His explanation, as I remember, was that these film releases were during his vacations.
BTW, why are we talking about this in the thread devoted to trolls?

It was a jab at Helmut Doork, who really, really, really hates Roger Ebert.
Helmut Doork is banned. And another one bites the dust.
Never mind.
The *late *Helmut Doork, BTW (since it hasn’t been mentioned yet.)
eta:Until it was, while I was writing this.

The best responsee to that news suggested by Martha and the Vandellas.

I’ve got a better one:

Hmmm. I don’t see a banning announcement for that particular twerp in ATMB. Doppelgänger perhaps?
I’d put the odds very high that he was a trock.
I’d put the odds very high that he was Stuntman Mike.
Gotta be SamuelA because I voted for July 29th in the Technology thread and God owes me one, dammit.

Hey, if that bigoted jackass-of-one-post-infamy, Annoyed, comes back and posts more nonsense, you might get your prayer answered/wish fulfilled*.
*This is predicated on Annoyed being the twerp-in-question also.
My trolldar (sockdar?) isn’t great, but King of the Americas deserves mention… bumps a 16 year old thread started by Eve and before long is onto Magic is Real and Ley Lines…
Link.
My, my, what do we have here? Rayks Marcial ? What an … interesting… name.
