I disagree in part. If anything, the board tolerates trolls and socks way too long.
That said, it is true some posters pull out the Troll card at the drop of a hat. But an account that was created over three years ago and only now got its first post?

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I have to ask: has HoneyBadgerDC always been this irrational, or is this a recent development?

I’ve never known HBDC to post anything useful in any thread on any topic. I don’t think they’re a troll, but stupid and brainwashed by shitty media.
**HBDC **has been getting progressively worse. I think that sped up following some family issues, including a death. I find it sad.

I don’t think they realize this means they admit they get their news from Breitbart. Or if not Breitbart, from sources with …shalll we say even more questionable…journalistic standards and a self-admitted torch to carry for ultraconservative causes.
It’s like saying “I don’t watch Fox News because they still occasionally exhibit journalistic integrity out of a twinge from a vestigial remnant of conscience or fear of legal repercussions.”
I wonder how many say “I don’t watch Fox News” because they have been shown that lying to liberals is o.k.(and openly encouraged if said lie upsets them)?
And how many of those have found OAN to be a much more reliable source of the alternative facts narrative?
No one watches Fox News, it seems. They just listen to some random guy on Facebook, treating it as equally valuable.
I’m having to deal with this in my dad. Admittedly, I’m doing poorly, but it’s because the idea that someone I love is falling for this shit that makes me too angry. I know intellectually you have to seem calm and reasonable when you deal with this shit, but, for some reason, I can’t do it when it’s in my own house.
Though us all being cooped up together, with me trying to take care of both my mom and my dad, probably doesn’t help. Nor does his frustration of trying to get his unemployment that they say he already has but isn’t on his card.
No wonder this stuff spreads–everyone is being pushed too hard to think as critically as normal.
