On charging an iPod Nano w/ a FireWire cable

(I did not see this question in the Computer Question sticky.)

I’ve got both an iPod Nano and a regular iPod (3rd or 4th generation).

The Nano uses USB & the regular iPod uses FireWire to connect to a computer. However, the socket on the **other ** end of the cable from the USB or FireWire connector will fit either device.

In other words, I can connect my FireWire cable to my iPod Nano (and my USB cable to my regular iPod).

My question: Can I **charge ** my iPod Nano with the FireWire cable connected to the A/C adapter that I got with the regular iPod? (The A/C adapter says its output is 1 mA.)

You can charge your nano, but not sync it.
