On the Topic of Transgenders

I can’t help but notice D’Anconia has not addressed this. I guess he ran away.

My mistake-it 3rd John.
The 1st was closed for repair, and the 2nd was being cleaned.

It’s possible he got butthurt about his hypocritical ATMB thread and fucked off for a bit. I’m sure he’ll be back.

He was logged on a while ago but he decided to stink up a different thread.

Probably burned out after remembering what he had for breakfast.

With great pedantry comes great responsibility. If he doesn’t cause a two page hijack of GD thread over an autocorrect typo, who will? We need him on that wall.

It’s a shame, too. I’m actually curious as to his position on transgender rights.

I agree. Can we take away the ladder once he’s up there?

If you notice, he never takes an actual position on anything. Except squatting.

Huh, I totally missed that thread and yet I was arguably one of the inspirations for it, or at least I instigated it quite a bit without getting any mod splashed on me
Truth be told, it didn’t occur to me that Lobohan was actually wrong - just that he was thinking of a Georgia case, and I added a reference to Kentucky (invoking Kim Davis). As I said at the time, it wouldn’t shock me at all to find out a Georgia clerk had defied a SCOTUS ruling. Heck, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if a Georgia clerk had refused to register black children to white schools after Brown or grant a marriage license to an interracial couple after Loving. I’d be more surprised if stuff like this hadn’t happened in Georgia, southern bastion of tolerance and equality.

Link if you haven’t seen it.

Lobohan wasn’t even in that thread. Your entire posting history is discredited.

It was Trinopus.

Oh, I know. I was just thinking that perhaps he might nitpick just the right combination of worthwhile posts so as to reveal his position.

Oh, no… and since I’m a shameless liberal, I’m naturally unable to admit my mistake according to Bricker.

Eh, screw him. I was wrong.

Oh great, now we’ll get another Ambirant®!

Actually, that’s the funny thing regarding the discussion in this thread - I believe by the end of his life he was an atheist… an atheist who looked Jewish, had been raised in an Orthodox home where he acquired an accent, and who had a “Jewish” name. Don’t know what his religious feelings were back in the 1950’s, but how strong could they have been if he had already married a nice Catholic girl? Not that being Catholic or in a “mixed marriage” in such a place would have been any better.

Anyhow - he was kicked out town for being Jewish.

And the concept of Sundown Towns (where an “undesirable” person had to leave by nightfall or face arrest or attack) is documented in American history. It typically applied to Blacks, but it also impacted other minority groups. This story has a ring of truth to it.

A high school in North Carolina is authorizing students to carry pepper spray to “defend” themselves from transgenders in the bathroom.

You know this is just going to be an excuse for the mean girls to spray the girls they pick on and claim they look like men.

Would wearing a t-shirt that says in bright colors “Ask Me About My Genitals!” be in bad taste?

Almost always.

Except a NAMBLA meeting.

Oops, posted a comment to the wrong thread. Replaced it with this one since I can’t figure out how to delete.

Pshaw. What you have their is clearly a demon cat. It is just biding its time, making the dog trust it, before it can pounce.
