I realize you’re in the UK. Which may have more sensible arrangements.
But here in the USA there are private companies driving around with CT scanners and other minimally invasive diagnostic tools trying to sell healthy people on getting random shit imaged “just in case”. Likewise folks selling wide-ranging blood tests for all and sundry.
It’s a huge scam in that while yes, the imagery or bloodwork is real, the result is lots of healthy people being exposed to some risk and some radiation for no actual benefit. Except to the bottom line of the outfits selling these scans. Who of course also have people on staff to sell you more stuff or more investigations or more “care” if anything abnormal is found.
Oddly enough, all of our innards have just as mileage as all of our outtards. If you don’t look age 12 on the outside, you won’t look age 12 on the inside either. There will be something they find that’s not in factory perfect condition and there’s their hook to start the hard upsell.
I would hope a civilized nation like the UK wouldn’t have crap like this. You know the real situation on the ground there, not me.
Good luck whatever you decide.
