On which Network will you watch the Pats-Giants tonight...

CBS or NBC? And why?

I’m asking this because I don’t which one I’ll choose, and I’m looking for inputs. (I’m a Pats fan, if that means anything.)

And if there’s no other Giants-Pats prediction-thread going, whom do you think will win? (Good grammar brought to you by a Massachusetts born-and-bred barn owl. )

NBC. I don’t care for the CBS studio, its studio crew, or it’s football theme music. I prefer the NBC studio, crew, and music.

I think the Pats will win, but this is one of the rare times I will swallow my Cowboys fanhood and root for the Giants since a Giant win has no impact on Dallas at this point. Screw the Pats.

I’ll be watching it on the NFL network in HD.

Is it going to be the same feed? I’ve seen the NFL network feed on local stations here when they’re showing the Cowboys. Are CBS and NBC going to use their own cameras and announcers? Or is the game going to be an identical simulcast on NFL, NBC, and CBS?

It’s Hockey Night in Canada so I’ll only watch it if the hockey game is boring, but if I decide to flip it on, it’ll be NBC. I like their crew.

I’ll watch it on whichever channel I find it one when I’m surfing. Because I’m too lazy to find out which ones have it and too indifferent to look.

I won’t be watching the game. I am in mourning. My beloved Denver Broncos are 6-9 this season and couldn’t even beat Detroit. I probably won’t watch the Vikings game.

Football? Bah! Humbug!

If its the same NFL network announcers on both stations, whichever one I surf to first. If its CBS and NBC announcers, whichever set I find less annoying.

Whichever one Chris Collinsworth will be announcing. He and John Madden are the only announcers I actually like to listen to.

I hate when announcers see one good play and predict a turn-around.

It is the same feed on both networks (and the NFL network).

Is this the first time that a game has been shown on three networks?

Moving thread from IMHO to Cafe Society.

I know how you feel. :frowning: This is a really, really rough year. Last year, everybody was calling for Plummer’s head. So he loses his job. I think it’s pretty clear who is at fault this year, but you can damn well bet he won’t be losing his job.

Meanwhile, Cris Collinsworth and Bryant Gumbel are, without a doubt, the worst football talking-heads this side of ESPN. Still, it’s been a good game, despite the Gruesome Twosome’s level best to ruin the whole thing.

ETA: I know the Pats don’t care, but if I were them, I’d be annoyed that the NFL Network is using this game for a bunch of free promo. “Look how great the NFL Network is! LOOK! LOOK! ARE YOU LOOKING!!!” Well, I’ve paid the extra $5/month for the channel, and it’s really not that great.

Madden? Really?

[John Madden Impersonation]
This team has to get that ball in the endzone if they want the points, and I don’t have to tell you, that they need to put points on this board if they want to win this ballgame. You can’t win a ballgame without points, and you can’t get points unless you put that ball in the endzone. Buy Madden '08, like Madden '07 and Madden '06, but I say a few new phrases! Tough-actin-Tinactin![/John Madden Impersonation]

Gee, thanks Madden for that ever so insightful commentary. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yep. Four networks if you live in the NYC or Boston markets. (Mmmm, chicken.)

It’s also the first national NFL simulcast of any kind since Superbowl I. (Not counting NFL Network simulcasts in home markets.)
