Once Upon A Time [edited title]

I dunno, it didn’t seem out of character for me: I think Emma was completely freaked out by what happened with August, and is completely tired of all of the bullshit that’s been happening with everyone else, and decided that it’s time to just take her son and go. Maybe not a rational decision, or one that she’ll stick to, but it made sense to me (and seemed nothing like the situation with Mary Margaret).

I agree with this - she is really freaked out right now - and I am also assuming that Henry will be ‘home’ or this will be covered up quickly at the beginning of the next episode.

I don’t necessarily think that kidnapping Henry meshes well with the Emma we’ve come to know up to this point, who’s portrayed to be very canny (if somewhat hotheaded). But you’re right. Booth is the second adult to admit believing in Henry’s curse, the third if we count Graham; either he’s a lunatic stalker with a creepy breadth of knowledge about Emma’s past or the whole world is going nuts. Throw in the other weird goings-on, Katherine’s disappearance, the mayor going to just patently absurd lengths to make her life difficult … well, freaked out covers it, I suppose.

I’m still not sure I see her kidnapping Henry, but maybe it’s not too much of a stretch.

I agree she’s freaked out, but how does she expect to get away with this? She’s leaving her job, presumably her old apartment in Boston is gone. Her fingerprints are on file from being a bounty hunter/sheriff. Not to mention that Sydney dug up her entire past when he was working on the smear campaign when she first came to town. Where can she go? She’s acting without a plan…did she even pack a suitcase? Or let Henry pack a toothbrush?

Again: it might not be a rational decision, or one that she’ll stick to. But it still makes sense to me in terms of her character and the story so far. People do all sorts of crazy things without thinking them through, especially when they’re starting to feel boxed in – both on TV and in real life.

I think you are correct about this, and since this week’s episode didn’t clear it up, I wonder who the call was to? I had assumed it was Geppetto, but that seemed unlikely. Perhaps the blue fairy/mother superior? She had time to prepare the fairies for the curse, perhaps she has some memories of HEAL?

Perhaps Henry being gone will force Regina to “blow her cover” by using magic in Storeybrook.

Could be the mother superior - they had ‘words’ outside while Gold was watching - makes the most sense so far - especially given the Blue Fairies appearances and efforts in the last 2 episodes.

I have to say it again - this show has defied all expectations so far -

Emma will not succeed in leaving Storybrooke because Henry won’t let her. Yes, he’d prefer to live with Emma than to live with Regina, but above all, he wants her to save everyone in Storybrooke. The moment he finds out that she’s planning to ditch them all, he will turn on Emma and demand that she stay.

I’m thinking it will be more like the curse prevents her from leaving - and its one more straw on that camel’s back.

But I do agree that Henry wants to save everyone AND defeat the evil queen - I don’t think he yet (at the end of the last episode) realizes that Emma intends to take him out of storybrooke. (I may be confusing preview with episode)

The curse only prevents characters who came over at the time it was cast from leaving Storybrook. Booth and Emma left with no problems. Emma and Henry should have no problems leaving, except that Oy! is right about Henry.

Someone please help me out: my recorder’s timer seems to be off. (Or is the show running long? Or maybe the local station is screwing about with extra commercial time.) I just watched this episode and the previous one, and both cut off mid sentence. :frowning:

At the end of the earlier episode, Emma is in confrontation with the Mayor after the ‘murdered wife’ has turned up. Going by the start of the latest, Emma told the Mayor she was going to try to get custody of Henry. Anything else come out?

And this one cut off just after Emma woke Henry up with one of their cobra calls. From comments, she is planning to take him and run away? Anything else?

Thanks!

:eek::confused::mad::):beer:;):cool::cool::what::what::what:

Not planning, she did it. She radio’d Henry and asked him to come out to talk. Henry gets out of bed, and grabs his jacket. Henry and Emma were in her little yellow bug talking and she asked him if he wanted to get away from Regina and live with her. Henry says yes. She starts the car and says ok, we’re leaving now. We see the yellow bug driving past the “you are leaving storeybrook” sign.

In the previous episode, not much came out from the last conversation except that Emma was going to fight Regina for custody of Henry.

Whoo! The missing minute this week really mattered!

Thank you, The Devil’s Grandmother.

Never thought I’d see Snow White shank a prison guard on family hour TV. Or what could be considered a bit of a BJ joke: “Red, you got someone on your chin…”

I like HEAL, but I’ll skip getting a job at the castle, thanks.

I loved the attack of the fairies!

Oh wow. A post by me, in a thread I’ve never read, consisting entirely of smiley faces. Great. I left my phone lying around with Tapatalk open and my 4 year old Hal Briston’d me. :sheepish: Sorry folks.

At least now we know where they’re going with season 2.

Crap–My DVR for some reason decided not to record this last night. Hopefully this episode will show up in my On Demand menu soon.

where do you think they are going with season 2, Shakes? just curious, I like speculations.

anyway, was Snow dumb or what, making that deal with Regina without any guarantees that Charming would be free as well as alive? Almost as dumb as Emma, letting Henry eat that turnover.

I want to see Gold get the upper hand over Regina. Was glad to see the Hatter again - though he seems selfish, like a lot of the characters - only concerned with his & his daughter’s happiness.

Still liking this show a lot - lovely talented cast, and I have always loved fairy tales ever since discovering Andrew Lang’s series of fairy tale collections as a wee tyke.
