Once you go black you never go back! - Hardware question

I’m changing over to black hardware and I can’t seem to find a good source for reasonably priced black gear. Anybody have some good links for black gear or how to convert white to black gear and still have it look professional? Are black faces available for white floppies?

But as for your Q, Have you considered paint? If the covers are removeable, spray paint 'em with an enamel. Unless someone comes on here and says that’s bad. I’m not a comp tech, just a user.

Theres a whole community dedicated to this kind of stuff but I can tell you right now, its not just a matter of whacking on some paint. You need to clean, them prime, then use 3 or 4 different players of paint to get it to look half decent.

Hard OCP used to be the source for custom box tips. Everything from cooling to neon.

Gideontech has an article about Vinyl Die which should allow you to color white plastic black. Its made specifically to dye plastic, and soaks into the surface instead of sitting on top, allowing earlier writing and textures to show through. This is a superior method to painting, since you don’t have to sand and prime, and the results look better.

Newegg.com and Directron.com both stock black stuff. Newegg stocks black drives, Directron black everything else. You WILL have to pay extra, however.
