I have to know how it went now that I’ve seen this thread. All the vegans I’ve ever met have been True Believers; emaciated skinny, hippies and women. And they’re not afraid to say that they’re vegan, oh no not at all.
No holiday mass murders reported on the radio. Wonder what’s keeping her?
I hope she’s not tied up in some basement, being force-fed tofurkey!

Sorry, all! I just now got the PM asking me to give you the coda:
It all kind of blew over. The brother (causehead’s fiance) originally started off defending the thxgiving move. It turns out the proffered reason was that Causehead wanted to eat at a vegan restaurant for thxgiving (and not any of the PETA or PC reasons I supposed). I was not in on this phone conversation, but I heard it. I was getting really pissed off to the point where I was just going to email them all and say “this is when it is. deal”
when a couple of days later, brother calls back saying they re-scheduled their vegan meal for the mid-afternoon, and that they would come out after they ate.
They showed up around 715, right as we were starting to eat. They watched us eat, and then we moved to dessert. Various people made some vegan desserts, and were well received by Causehead. I think she appreciated the gesture.
All in all, it went well. Crisis averted!

That was much more anti-climactic and far less violent a conclusion than I’d hoped. Glad everyone came out of it safely. 
Overall, given that the issue became a non-issue, did you find her likable at all?
