You know… it is the arrogance of statements like this which get me.
Jesus this, Jesus that. The one true god. Blah, blah, blah.
The zealous monotheism of this on going rant, and others like it that I’ve experienced leave me seeing the majority of Christians as being a bunch of intolerant dogmatic sheep.
No respect is generally paid to anyone of differing beliefs, and many will attempt a conversion on someone they find to either be an atheist, pagan, or ‘incorrect’ denomination.
Why is it that when Christians try to not hide their light under a bushel, they often will attempt to set fire to the other lights which are different than theirs? I would think that more blood has been spilled in the past two thousand years over holy wars, inquisitions, and witch burnings than have died in world wars or from disease.
Faith should sustain. Faith in itself should be enough. A score card of conversions and laying judgement upon others strikes me as being against everything the Christian faith is built on. But, of course, someone’s going to see me as a religious bigot and will ignore any points that I have made and will just say some variant of blasphemer. Blah, blah, blah.
Not to speak for him, but I belileve jmullaney is speaking to other Christians in this thread, those who interpret Scripture differently from him and who he is trying to convince.
And has been said before, and in the other thread going on about Christians’ arrogance, why follow a relgion you don’t believe is the Truth?
