One hell of a finale (?), a rescue tale MMP

That’s okay. I am sending Gnat to a monastery from twelve through twenty. I’m sure it will be fine. Or I’ll tie him up in a burlap sack, or chain him in the basement, or something.

Today’s going much better than yesterday, although I’m trying to talk myself out of making pizza for dinner and making something healthier. Pesto spinach and cheddar pizza. Convince me to make salad or something instead?

I wish I would have thought of that for our daughter: but alas, it’s too late.

**LiLi **- there’s always military school, too!

Today was our team meeting/lunch. We take turns, in pairs, bringing lunch for the team. The guys today were going to do pizza, but they didn’t know that it should have been ordered yesterday to be ready at 11 today. So Plan B involved running to Food Lion to get chips, cheese, veggies, lunchables, crackers, pepperoni, and some chicken tenders. Yes, lunch was Bachelor Food. And singularly unsatisfying! It didn’t occur to either of the guys to just get a loaf of bread, some lunchmeat, and some cheese… So I came home and made me a sammich.

**FCD **is on his way back from PA. He’ll be stopping to get the oil changed in my car, because it’s now overdue because of his trip. So that’ll be done. I’ve got a load of clothes in the washer, and tonight we can pack all but our toiletries. I plan to take off a couple of hours tomorrow so I don’t have to rush when I get home. Then when daughter gets home, we can load the car and hit the road. That should get us to Ocala for breakfast.

So you won’t see me on line tomorrow. I’ll try to check in from FL, since **FCD **will be taking his laptop. We’ll only be there 5 days, which is just about enough. At least it’ll be warmer…

Too late- I’ve made the pizza dough! We’ll have cucumber salad or something with it.
Tomorrow is bread and chocolate babka and assorted other baking, day. I should probably do some cookies. My son and husband love cookies, and I do the baking and I like cake and bread. Oatmeal chocolate chip? Spice cookies? I should clean and organize the pantry, too.

Nah. I’ll just bake.

I never thought of Merryland as being within driving distance of Flaw-duh, but what do I know. It always took me two days to drive from Flaw-duh to Michigan.

For everybody with broken foots and broken hearts: I’m sorry. Feel better, K?

I went to church! They had their Christmas program at the Looteran church Sunday morning and #3GrandDaughter played the flute, and #2GrandSon was Joseph. He sang a solo. (So low we couldn’t hear him.)

They had breakfast before the service, Looterans do that. It was pretty nice. They sang some of the old hymns that I liked. The new hymns they have now are meh. No real power in 'em, and the words are clumsy and don’t even rhyme real well sometimes. Humbug!

I’ve been suffering from a gout attack the last few days, so I know some of MBG’s pain, but thankfufly, my pain is about over, thanks to copious amounts of NSAIDs.

I know there’s more, but I have the short term memory of a goldfish, so; hugs, salmons, etc.

Oh, and {{{{{{{{{{{{LiLi}}}}}}}}}}}}} 'cause you’re gonna need it.

Thiswas a surprising find!!

Sure makes him look like a nice pace to visit!  :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice place to visit, but only his wife should live there.

Oh, yeah. Niece decided she wasn’t going home after school today because if she went home it would mean she’d have to spend most of the holiday break with [del]the devil[/del] her father. Fortunately, she’s a good kid, so she either called to tell her mother where she was or was with someone who’s mother called to let my brother and his ex where she was. It’ll be interesting to see if she winds up coming up here tonight. Help.

Since you’re going to have all this time on your hands, I vote you start us out next Monday. :stuck_out_tongue:

Gotta finish doing some reorganizing so that the house is ready to receive niece and nephew tonight…

Hugs.

I think we should all visit Bobbio!

Howdy Y’all! I lived through another day. One more to go this week. Papa John’s made dindin. Nice of him wasn’t it!

I’s tahred and so is OYKW. He’s headin’ out tomorrow mornin’ as I leave for irk so mayhaps I should make sure he’s extra “appreciated” tonight.

wiki yay for new appliances!

LiLi when we have pizza I always make a sallit. That makes it a healthy meal. It’s a rule.

We had sliced cucumber. It’s pretty much salad. Almost the same.

Brother and nephew are on their way here. This is kind of a relief to me, although I really wanted to spend some time with my niece. I hope the agreement includes having her come up here for at least a few days during break. (Frankly, I think that would be better; going from spending no time with dad to a whole week in a row seems a bit drastic.)

Anyway, needed to share the latest Hyperbole-and-a-half.. It re-tells trauma from when Allie was 6 years old. Still manages to be rather irreverent and VERY funny.

Name change is postponed until the second week of January because for some reason it didn’t make it on the judge’s calendar and the background check they have to do on me wasn’t done. My mom says god’s saying something.

Worked again today and probably another five or six hours tomorrow. Yay money.

Bobbio lacks the $$$$ to visit Bobbio.

I’m getting HTG depressed again. It may be time to ask the doc for some of Daddy’s Other Little Helper.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Only a 13 hour day today.

Hope the doc can help. BBBobbio.

My father’s family sent their sons to Xavier Castle to study at the Jesuit Seminar/Middle-High School there for generations spanning more than 300 years (depending on the century, they could be there between the ages of 7 and 17). I suspect there were times when Dad wouldn’t have minded being able to do the same but alas, there was a local Jesuit school at hand and Xavier had closed anyway (otoh, Mom would have had fits at the notion of not having Middlebro and me handy to do housework). My uncle JM, Dad’s oldest bro, ended up not graduating from Xavier but… from what eventually was my own High School; people would sometimes “discover” a pic of my Dad among the graduating-class pictures and ask me how come I claimed my Dad wasn’t an alumnus, only it was his lookalike brother instead.

10 days to Kidlets’ time. Tick-tock, tick-tock…
I’ve been watching my BP, because I was feeling funky (sometimes very low, others kind of hyper), and either the BP-measurement-machine is broken or my BP is jumping more than a cranky 2yo. Go up 3 flights of stairs at a reasonable pace, 13/8; two hours later, 6/3. Right after lunch (and sedately coming up the lift), 6/4. Bleagh. I guess I should ask a doc about it…

G’morning (or afternoon) all, up and caffeinating in progress here.

Thanks for that link, GT, that really had me laughing!! I have to go back there and look at more of that blog. Thanks again! LiLi, you’re probably going to get a lot of practice saying your rosary with Gnat, I think. Saving grace: your son is highly imaginative and will likely, one day, put that talent to very good use. BBBBobbio, hope you’re feeling better soon! Neat that FCM found that place in Italy named after you.

Okay, now I gotta get my butt in gear and get up and outta here. Happy hump day all!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ on a freaky warm south Jawja morn. It’s 61 degrees Amurrkin right now with a predicted high of 68. Weird. At least no storms are predicted. I’m glad for that cause OYKW has a fun drive to West Alabammy today. Speakin’ of which, he is up and purtifyin’. Soon I shall purtify as well. We’re goin’ out for breakfast then he’ll be on his way and I’ll go to irk. Rah.

Ok, I need some more caffiene and then purtification must commence.

Happy Wednesday Y’all!

Safe travels for OYKW.

Nephew is here, watching That 70s show AND playing PS3. This means I don’t have to work tomorrow, right?

Almost Firday!

Hugs.

Good morning, sorta. It’s 4:30 AM here, I had a bad dream.

Yesterday was a good day.
About a month ago, hubby did a dumb thing… he went to the store for me. He didn’t wear his seatbelt and got a ticket. A $124 ticket. He said he was in the process of putting it on when officer Friendly stopped him.
He went to his mitigation hearing yesterday. The ticket was dismissed, because the officer didn’t write anything. So, we have an extra $124 to spend on Christmas. That means the ticket isn’t hubby’s present.
Now, I have to go shopping. Actually, I’ve already gotten him a present; a desk-top trebuchet, it’s #3 on the list. Now if only I could find a bag of Halloween pumpkin candies for ammo…
What he really wanted was a full sized one he could enter the local Chunkin’ Punkin’ contest with next fall.
