Today is our annual cookie decorating party. Yes, we’re Jewish.
It all started when my soon-to-be step-son was three and I wanted to bond with him (he’s Catholic). So we matches of cut out cookies together every year. As I had kids we included them, of course. As they got older we started inviting some of their friends. Now it’s primarily my 12 year old daughter- five of her friends just arrived. I’ve been baking cut out cookies all week (made about 10 dozen, no joke). Batches of royal icing tinted in all colors, toppings, tinted coconut etc.
It’s blast and the kids are great and the cookies come out fabulous! Really pretty and tasty too. I’ll post some pics after they are done.

Attacks Things Randomly Husband has come over and we’re doing bread and sweet roll dough and probably cookies because Gnat wants cookies. They’re outside playing in the snow for a few minutes. Having little boys is like having minature greyhounds. They need a lot of running.
I made my first stuffed toy a few days ago. Mr. Lissar thinks he isn’t cute. I think he’s cute. I’m making a septipus for Gnat for Christmas.
So having just gotten up and standing here waiting for the mac and cheese to come out of the microwave is going to cause a rip in the time/space continuum? Guess that makes it clean underwear day after all!

E-mail from the new boss that my position is being funded, and the paperwork should be done by the end of next week. I have a job after all!

Just popping in before we hit the road. Daughter is on her way home and the car is almost entirely packed. The dogs know something is up, but they don’t know they’re going… yet…

Inlaws know we may arrive in the wee dark hours, so they plan to inflate a bed for the kid and clear the guest room for us oldsters. Hope we get there in time to get a decent nap followed by a relatively normal day of visiting. I’ll post when I can. Because I care, and I know you will all fret.

Ha! Kodiak had a blizzard drop a foot of the fresh white nasty, while here in Magoosville it is partly sunny and 50 degrees!
I have given up all hope of getting it together before Saturday. If I get the feast on the table I am going to call it good. Next year I will attempt The Perfect Christmas…again!

Howdy Y’all! My work week is over. Rah. I bought fruit for the Agape Supper tonight and then had to go back to the sto’ cause they overcharged me on red seedless grapes. Crisis averted however and I am now $5.34 richer.
