Republicans delay Att Gen confirmation for a week
Good to see the right taking a stand here.
I don’t think they’ll win this time though.

I don’t want anyone dragged away in chains. Not interested in drama, trauma, or yo mamma. I’m interested in the truth. I want to know who signed what, and when, and why. I want to know who made the decisions, who was enabled and entrusted to decide which detainees were to be subjected to torture. I want to know on what evidence that decision was based. I want to know who it was done to and who it was not done to.
And I want to know why.
We are told in vague and hand-waving terms that these vile actions produced actionable intelligence that saved lives, yet we are told, in the same breath, that this fact cannot be brought forth, they can’t prove that without giving away vital secret information. Trust us, they say.
No. I don’t trust you. I want the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, and God help you. If Her limitless mercy is, in fact, limitless.
There is a new sheriff in town.

You are absolutely right. I shall start using Bush, Bushed, Bushing, etc., from now on as the filthy curse word that it is. In the spirit of bi-partisanship, I ask all of you, whether Right or Left (for certainly Dubya was no friend of either), to join me in encouraging a fine new American tradition. We shall use “Bush” as as the evil word that it is so that we may never forget how one man almost unraveled our entire nation. Never Forget!
Bush that Bushing bastard–curse him to hell! He Bushed this country harder than any Bushing Busher ever dreamed of in his wildest, vilest dreams.
If Santorum can come to mean this then surely “Bush” should now be used to define something far more disgusting and despicable. I mean, Rick Santorum was a genuine, Grade A Busher, but he was no Bushing Bush!
Please join me. He earned this (and then some). We will probably never see him come before a war crimes tribunal, so this is the least we can do to forever “honor” that evil little Busher.
Can you prove he is a criminal?
That’s what trials are for, dude. Until then, we do have probable cause.
He’s already admitted that he was going to start a war in Iraq no matter what. We hanged people for that at Nuremberg, if you’ll recall.
So much stuff about Bush is out there…I don’t know what to believe anymore.
You have video footage of him saying this? At this point that’s about all I would believe, and even then I would need to see the whole interview/tape or whatever.
You do know that they planted a fake journalist at the press conferences to toss softball questions, don’t you? The fact that he was an internet prostitute didn’t seem to faze the admin…
I suspect all politicians do that kind of thing…so what.
Another thing they do is ask “hard” questions, but go through back channels and warn the subject beforehand so that he or she can prepare to answer the “tough” question and not sound like a complete dumb ass.
Sure they do, but they usually corrupt someone who already has been cashing checks as a reporter for some time, and usually someone who’s resume is not nearly so…colorful… as Mr. Gannon’s.
Certainly, it may not make a lot of sense to go to any trouble to bring in a ringer like him. Its not like his “colleagues” won’t figure him out, and, as above, there is seldom any difficulty finding someone to whore to power. So its fair to say that the theory that he was brought in simply because he could be relied upon to kiss what is offered is flawed, at best.
But it does have the advantage of plausibility. Without it, we are left standing about scratching ourselves and wondering what in the blue fuck he was doing there? Somebody went to considerable trouble to get him in that room. Why?
