I like the squirrel-cat staredown.
They are adorable! Thank you for sharing with us.
I loved the one of Zubin at the table. You can just see him thinking, “Where’s my food?”
.
Wow, glad finally got things working so you guys could see the cats. I orginally started another post about Our Bengal Cats but never could get the links working, so started another.
Anyhow, the reason for the name is that Bengals are bred from the wild Asian Leopard Cat which lives in India. Hence the names from one of our favorite conductors. They are either spotted or “marbled” like Mehta.
FYI, Zubin weighs in at 15 lbs and Mehta is “only” 13 lbs. As the cat standard reads, they are "well muscled."Fortunately, they are not lap cats. On the rare occasion when one jumps into my lap, it feels like a warm sandbag. All Bengals have spots on their tummies, a black tip at the end of the their tails, and the bottoms of their feet are always black.
They are really funny guys. We’ve had dozens of cats, but these are the only ones ever had to buy, but it was worth it. Bengals are now a recongized breed and can be seen at cat shows.
Mehta almost never utters a sound while Zubin talks non-stop whenever he is awake. He has a huge repetoire of different sounds.
They wrestle and chase each other through the house at full speed (killy stampedes) and always are a hoot. They are 8 yeas old now.
Thanks everybody for all the help and good suggestions on the link problem.
Silly me, I thought you had bought Bengals tigers and were just being cute.
Awww, aren’t they cute?
KlondikeGeoff - If you got yours in the Phoenix metro area there is a decent chance they are related. There still aren’t a ton of breeders of these cats out there.
They well may be. Our Zubin came from a Phoenix breedeer (8 years ago). We had him for a week and he never stopped crying and meowing, so figured better get another one for company. As that breeder had no more, nor did any other, finally contacted one in Tucson and we picked Mehta a week later.
There were a lot of hissy fits at first, then they became friends. It turned our that Zubin never stoped talking to this day, so that was not the problem, but glad we got the second one. We usually got two kittens at a time, as they keep each other occupied.
Does your guy talk all the time? He/she’s a real cutie.
