tv show: don’t really watch tv
novel: ham on rye - bukowski
short story: Why don’t you danceby raymond carver
Movie: Apocalypse Now – I just keep finding levels on which to appreciate it. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, The Usual Suspects, and The Wolf Man (1941) are up there, too.
TV Show: **Law & Order SVU **-- I’ve been watching it a lot, and I like it. Not much else to say; I don’t feel too bad about omitting Mad Men, Dexter, The Prisoner, or MASH*.
Album: The Complete Columbia Recordings of Miles Davis with John Coltrane – I’m cheating her, but this is more satisfying than any rock/pop or classical offering I can think of, though Born to Run, Beggar’s Banquet, Are You Experienced, and *Robert Johnson: The Complete Recordings *are probably closest
Novel: **The Old Man and the Sea ** – I’m not too attached to this, but I’m not a big novel reader. *To Kill a Mockingbird *would have been a good one, too, but I’ve never assigned it–it’s a little long for ELL classes.
Nonfiction Book(s): The Golden Bough – The multi-volume set. Reading this isn’t a one-time thing; it’s practically an avocation.
Movie: Duck Soup
TV Show: 3rd Rock From the Sun - we own the complete series.
Album: Boys in the Trees, by Carly Simon
Novel: The Maltese Falcon, by Dashiell Hammett
