If you become interested, this is some interesting watching, especially now, when we can all see the correlation between killing many innocent people to get at the one loony, who could have been gotten by less drastic means.
Ehh… see this is why I didn’t actually try to ask the question. I figured that’s what was meant and I find it all uncompelling. Koresh was a dangerous loon and while ATF and the FBI certainly should have taken a number of lessons learned out of Waco, I still think primary blame needs to rest on the man who raped children and assembled an aresenal of weapons.
Yeah, but that’s kind of like if a crazy guy with an arsenal of weapons commandeered a McDonald’s full of people and the police response was to blow up the building. Worst case scenario, if the guy is mowing down officers by the truckload, maybe (ok maybe not), you see the death of a couple of people for the greater good, but clearly (from the movie) all options were not exercised, and the last resort seems to have been used as a first resort.
Sir!
As a native born son of Waco, “The Athens on the Brazos”, I take burnt umbrage…
As exemplified by the catch-and-release of the perpetrators of the massacre.
Good God, it really is called that!
By people comparing it to Athens, Georgia, maybe.
Hey, Athens, Georgia is a nice place!
Someone should have reminded him that when they run away without a fight, it means they all live to fight another day.
Basic Sun Tzu: “When the enemy attacks, retreat. When the enemy retreats, harass.”
Yeah I thought he sounded like an idiot when he said it too.
Wait, what was this thread about again? Oh, yeah repeating history.
I’m not suprised by Bush’s confidence in his strategy. It’s actually a good idea. It’s just reality that seems to pass him by.
