There are series that I like a lot that I’ve seen them so many times in reruns that I’m just not interested in a marathon. For example, Dick Van Dyke and Monty Python.
But here are some I would like to see.
Rocky and Bullwinkle
Muppet Show
Early years of Sesame Street
Babylon 5
Probably anything I remember from when I was a little kid (nor not-so-little-but-still-a-kid… or 3 years ago):
[ul]
[li]Power Rangers up through Zeo[/li][li]Duck Tales (Woo-ooo!)[/li][li]Dexter’s Lab[/li][li]Powerpuff Girls[/li][li]Samurai Jack[/li][li]Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM), actually I could probably sit through AoSTH, albeit a bit more reluctantly[/li][li]Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (er… BOTH runs, the '00s series was pretty good)[/li][li]Zoids - any of the early two (The Chaotic Century duo or the one with the Blitz Team, Fuzors and later is too far)[/li][li]And considering I just managed to watch all of Ben 10 + Alien Force on DVD, let’s say that[/li]Etc
[/ul]
Things I MAY be able to sit through, with no guarantees:
[ul]
[li]Dragonball + Z, depends how fast I get fed up with “yeah… we just caught up with the manga, can you tell?” Pacing.[/li][li] G Gundam, though in this case it’s just so… cheesy I may not be able to take it[/li][li]Various sitcoms, Family Matters, Gilligan’s Island. With enough blows to the head I may even be able to do Full House just for nostalgia value (don’t count on it).[/li][li]Some of the more modern cartoons that just ended, i.e. Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends and the like.[/li][/ul]
Life (only 2 seasons so far)
Seinfeld
The Simpsons
Family Guy
Others like Dukes of Hazzard, Buffy, and and Magnum PI I hesitate to list because their later seasons weren’t up to par from what I recall.
Yesterday it was 12 hours of Gidget movies. The sole point of entertainment in any of them is in “Gidget Goes Hawaiian.” Gidget (in this movie, Deborah Walley) appears to be drowning and James Darren jumps in and drags her to the boat by putting an arm under one arm, reaching across her chest, and latching onto her boob. And lemme tell ya, there wasn’t a lot there to latch onto.
Today it was Gidget, the TV series. Yeah, it’s sometimes fun to look for future stars, but it isn’t worth listening to Sally Field.
WGN has a Charlie’s Angels marathon going on today. Beyond the emotional component and the charms of the other Angels, I love the SoCal locations, the funky soundtrack and clothes, the corny one-liners, and the surprising list of guest stars.
