Onion News Network on IFC - Anyone else see it?

Overall, hilarious.

“This is America! No one deserves to be treated like a Black man!”

And the Sarah Palin morbid curiosity bit was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in awile.

Some of the jokes didn’t work, but it was very good. It’s like the Daily Show, only minus any attempt at social commentary.

Heck, no! It’s chock full o’ social commentary goodness!

I get my important news from two sources: the Onion, and Uncle Jay, who believes that it’s really important for today’s news to be understood by today’s innocent, ignorant and immature minds. Also children.

Very funny.

I thought it was a great beginning. The humor density of the show is terrific. The host speaks very fast and the little pop ups are jolly.

Oh my god those had me screaming with laughter.

Sometimes I can’t tell where the Onion News Network ends and Fox begins.

Not all the bits worked, but the pace was fast enough that the duds were over quickly with a good chance of the next bit being funny.

Suzanne Sena as “Brooke Alvarez” (the lead anchor) was the best thing about the show. She was spot-on.

Overall I enjoyed the first episode. My only reservation is that in lampooning cable news, they picked a lot of low-hanging fruit early on. While much of it was funny, I wonder how long they can keep the premise fresh.

Somewhat uneven first show, but it has good potential. I’ll watch again.

I was scared away after seeing the Onion sports show on Comedy Central, which I thought was pretty dreadful. Anyone see both that can compare them?

She was great. Although looking at IMDB, holy shit, is she typecast! Every one of her parts is a variation on Host, Journalist, Anchor, or Reporter.

I was under the impression that this was just going to be them running their shorts. Is this not the case?
