More of an MPSIMS topic, but since it involves food, I guess it goes here.
I was just preparing a fruit salad with cantaloupe, strawberries, mangoes, grapes, and pineapple, and there was a small bowl of diced white onion meant for a potato dish being made for dinner sitting about a foot away. On a whim, I grabbed a small handful and threw it in a separate bowl with some of the fruit to try it.
It was pretty tasty.
What kind of onions, I’ve notice there are types of onions that are actually sweet and have very little “oniony” taste
I do a peach-onion-ginger-mint-redpepper salad; sometimes I chop it finer and call it a salsa.
That sounds good, lissener. I love ginger and red pepper, though I’d probably replace the peach with mango or pineapple. Despite living just over the Georgia line in Tennessee, I’ve never been all that keen on peaches.
Just your typical yellow onion. Not a vidalia, or anything like that.
