Online Comics thread

PVP - no mention yet! woo!
Only because I forgot about it.

Also forgot about The City (one of the best online strips for political, and other, stuff) and City of Zeroes (a peek into the life of City of Heroes’ pedestrians).
Gunnerkrigg Court: A young girl is enrolled at a mysterious school inhabited by ghosts, robots, minotaurs, dragons, mad scientists, and talking dogs. Plus some stuff that’s really wierd.
Darths and Droids: The premise is that the Star Wars movies were the result of a RPG campaign (similar to DM of the Rings, but less dysfunctional). Both Star Wars jokes and RPG jokes, and they actually manage to make Jar-Jar likable.
Thank you both for these two. I enjoyed them.

Jim

Our work here is done…
Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal It’s a single panel strip, crude art and crude humor.
Sweet! It’s got the snark of xkcd without the overdoing of the nerd appeal, as well as the often highbrow sense of Partially Clips, and the whimsy of PBF.

Oh yeah - I’ve been reading Minus for quite a while now. It’s brilliant! Except I think she’s actually supposed to have nearly unlimited magical powers (seeing as how the things she does continue to affect other people even when she’s not around).
+1 for Minus. I love that strip when it updates.
Herdthinners, Questionable Content, Wapsi Square, Ctrl Alt Del, Bunny, Two Lumps on occasion (although I’ve developed a dislike for that ever since I found out that the artist (as opposed to the writer who is his lovely wife) has an irrational hatred of things such as nanowrimo on grounds that they ruin things for Serious Writers, Suh, like him :dubious: ), xkcd, occasional Sinfest.

SPQR Blues. It’s a Roman soap opera. Although I’ve found that I usually have to do some thinking on it to connect one day’s strip to the next – a lot of stuff happens offscreen – I still enjoy the art and the historical research.

oops

Thank you, thank youall! sniff you’re so beautiful I’ll be up all night looking at these links…
I have all 13 issues of GirlGenius the comic, 14 if you count #0. Honestly, I had no idea all this stuff was on the net… I’ll throw this in: Galaxion

Dammit.

Kevin & Kell

Achewood is simply the best webcomic ever. It’s a bit tricky to get into, but here’s a good start:

The Ray Smuckles Decision-Making Flowchart
Ray gets sort of stoned
The brave little Dutch boy / Lie Bot
Roast Beef buries his shirt

Looking for Group if you play World of Warcraft (or even if you don’t–Richard is funny even if you’ve never played a MMORPG).

Two Lumps if you like cats.

Another shout for the good Dr. McNinja. There’s a funny D&D one I found recently. And this one is about tentacle monsters and the girls who love them (note, linked strip is SFW, but click past that and it quickly becomes NSFW).

And another voice wondering wtf happened to Perry Bible Fellowship.

The now defunct Spamusement! did single panel comics inspired by spam subject lines he’d get in his in-box. Best to start from the first one and work your way up.

You may enjoy MC Frontalot’s Achewood-inspired song, Livin’ At The Corner Of Dude & Catastrophe

There’s a teaser MP3 of the CD-version of the song at the bottom of that lyrics page, but if you go to this page and scroll down to where it says “SongFight Contenders”, you’ll find the original demo version of the whole song.

On another webcomic front, does anybody know what the hell is going on with Chugworth Academy? Some time back there was some sort of server problem that caused the strip to disappear from the Internet for 6+ months. When it finally came back online it quickly became apparent that the author hadn’t drawn a single new strip in the entire time the site was down (you know, take the opportunity to build a backlog/buffer). Since it’s been back up, I swear that updates have come at the rate of about one strip per month. I’m bummed, because this was one of my favorite webcomics.

Just a shoutout to User Friendly with Saturday’s Comic. I found it very funny.

I’ve found that this type of drop-off in content is usually because of World of Warcraft, or some other MMORPG. Right now we’re seeing the (hopefully temporary) effects of GTA: IV.
