Ontario Secondary School Diploma Requirements?

How many courses does one need in the public system in Ontario to get a high school diploma under the new curriculum? How many mandatory english, math, and science credits, are required?
I’ve looked high and low and only found marking schemes etc… please help

Which Ontario? There are several of them.

E.g., I have a cousin that teaches in a high school close by one Ontario, but not a famous one.

He means the province of Ontario, probably the only one that sets high school graduation requirements.

  1. You need 30 credits. 18 are ccompulsory; the other 12 are your choice.

  2. Those credits must include

  • 4 credits in English
  • 1 credit in French
  • 3 credits in Mathematics, at least one of which must be Grade 11 or 12
  • 2 credits in Science at the Grade 9 and 10 level
  • 1 credit in Grade 9 Canadian Geography
  • 1 credit in Grade 10 Canadian History
  • 1 credit in any Arts course of your choosing in Grade 9 or 10
  • 1 credit in Health or Physical Education
  • Half a credit in Civics and half a credit in Career Studies in Grade 10
  • One credit of your choice from the four following options; a fifth English credit OR a credit in a third language OR a Social Studies credit OR a credit in Canadian or World History from Grade 11/12
  • One credit of your choice from the following three options: a second credit in Physical Education OR a second Arts credit OR a business studies credit
  • One credit of your choice from the following two options: a third Science credit OR a Tech Education credit.

The remaining credits are up to you.

  1. You must complete 40 hours of community service.

  2. You must pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test.
