Ooblech

Gesundheit!
Actually I’m looking for the proportions to make this non-newtonian liquid or a recipe. The only references I’ve found online are for making teaspoonfuls of this substance rather than say a soda can full of ooblech.

Can’t help you with the recipe. Just make sure Bartholemew Cubbins is available to bail you out if things get out of hand.

As long as you keep the same proportions, it should still work fine.

Handful of cornstarch and a spoonful of water. Doesn’t sound very complicated.

Also raisinbread please do not attempt this if you are under five years old. An adult need not be present.

The basic recipe is 1 volume water to ~3 volumes cornstarch. 3 cups of cornstarch plus 1 cup water should give you plenty to pour into pop cans.

Or start with cornstarch and mix in water until the mixture has the properties you like.

If you add food dye for that overall ooblech feel, it will of course get all over your hands.

Squink, I have heard it called ooblech since 1979. I read Bartholomew and the Ooblech in 1970.
