Oops! I Did It Again! (The Folk Version)

Okay, this past weekend (11/9-11/10) I was listening to my local public radio station here in New York (WNYC). I don’t know what show, whether it was an NPR or a PRI feed or if it was locally produced.

I do know the show was on in the afternoon, and I’ve tried searching WNYC’s site, as well as NPR and PRI, but I’m at a loss, so I turn to the teemings:

I heard a folk version of Britney Spears’ song ‘Oops! I Did It Again’, sung by one guy, on guitar, and man, it was good!

Someone out there must have heard it too, and can direct me to an archive where I can listen to it again.

Anyone?

That would probably be Travis, who performed it live at Glastonbury Festival in England about 3 years ago. Don’t know if it was released.

I just looked at the time difference between question and reply - how’s that for a record?

Thanks, but it wasn’t a live version, it was in-studio, during an interview. I thought it was Terry Gross and Fresh Air, but that website turns up nothing.

A search of ‘Travis-Oops I did it again’ on the WNYC website turns up nothing, either. Has Travis got a first name? (Or last?)

Travis is a band name, a sort of Coldplay-ish Brit-Rock band. There’s also an in-studio or possibly small crowd version of it floating around.

Fountains of Wayne also do a similar version of this.

Could it possibly have been Fresh Air? Back in early September, Terry Gross interviewed Richard Thompson (formerly of Fairport Convention) and he played a few selections of his “Thousand Years of Pop Music” show, including “Oops!”. It was said that a CD including those selections would be available soon.

That’s a bit earlier than you indicate, but perhaps it was a rebroadcast.
