I’ve been there… and it is AWFUL.
They must have changed it since I was there otherwise I am sure it would have made it into the piece-- one room used to have a Spiderman manikin…not a wax figure likeness of Tobey Maguire but a full costume Spiderman…like you’d have seen in a movie theater lobby or in a display at a comic store. Also, Super Mario…the exact same 4 foot high statue that was in Toys R Us or Gamestops.
Most of the ones shown are fairly bad, but a couple were not too bad - the Daniel Craig at least looks like him.
One of the problems is that they are plastic and not wax - wax has a translucency to it that makes it better at resembling actual human skin, the spray painted and airbrushed plastic is just horrible and you really can not get any depth to the look of the skin. I thought the Owen Wilson also wasn’t too bad. I think the problems with the bodies of many of them is they were working with standardized mannequins and just fitting on custom heads. That is why the Sean Connory [the head wasn’t too bad] is not the mesomorphic build, they put his head on a standard endomorphic mannequin body.
“I’m sorry, Famous Actor, but as you can see we did not use your image, so we don’t have to pay you anything.”
That would explain the majority of those pictures - a super-famous person that I can’t recognize?!?
Although in all fairness, the Jack Blacks looked better than the real thing (not a hard task).
Could it have hurt you to maybe say which Wax museum or maybe post a thought of your own?
Hear, hear!
About 30 years ago, David Letterman did a bit on his show where he visited the Hollywood Wax Museum and tried to guess who the celebrities being depicted were. He was unsuccessful most of the time. I see things haven’t improved there since then.
People, we expect more in an OP than just a link. This isn’t Facebook.
