Either win the wild card or lose every game from here on out. No more of this “miss the playoffs by one game” stuff.
Dear Steelers,
There’s this guy here on the Dope who thinks you’re going to win the Super Bowl. I’m afraid if it gets said too often it won’t happen. Can you have Coach Tomlin give him a call and tell him to cool it or something? Thanks.
Dear Sri Lanka national cricket team,
Fire your groundskeepers, give the new ball to Murali and Ajantha. It’s the only way to be sure.
Doors has been making those threads every year since 2003, IIRC. The Steelers granted his wish in 2005, so if anything is a jinx it will be when he stops posting them.
Look, I knew you were going to blow it against the Steelers and make me hate you. Did you realize that you were the only team to open the season with 2 home games? I hate to call the Pittsburgh game a must win this early in the season, but the schedule isn’t getting any easier.
You need to regroup and start playing like professionals. That goes for the coaching staff as well as the players. Seriously, how many more illegal formation penalties are you going to commit? Do you have the two minute offense down? Do you know you’re not supposed to call time out at the end of a close game when the clock is already stopped? Why does the offensive line look so bad? It’s supposed to be one of the best in the league.
You’ve got 2 division games coming up before your bye week, and they are absolutely must wins. Not just to get into the playoff hunt, but for the sake of Monday Night Football audiences everywhere. If you continue to suck, the rest of the country will groan when they realize you are playing and they’ll start badmouthing a franchise and fanbase that don’t really deserve it. Even worse, Tony Kornheiser will resent your presence and start blabbing on about Brett Favre or golf or whatever the hell that know-nothing old fart finds interesting.
The Cleveland Browns do not resemble a professional football team right now, for much the reasons you stated. Scary to think what they could accomplish if they had more discipline and professionalism than a second grade class. :smack:
It still won’t help. When MNF has a game without an ESPN favorite, K-hole will ignore that team and talk about what he wants to talk about. Won’t matter if your team is undefeated. I’m positive when MNF covers the Cards/49ers game later this year, 99% of what K-hole will blab about is last year’s Super Bowl, Tom Brady, and Dancing With The Stars.
Please stop pinning all your hopes on your goalies and get your offence together. I do not want to see another game in which you lose 5-1, but the Habs goalie has stopped 40 shots and your opponents’ goalie has stopped 7.
Dear 49rs,
I’m sorry I bought Vernon Davis’s jersey in 2006 and made him get hurt.
I’m sorry I bought Manny Lawson’s jersey in 2007 and made him get hurt.
I’m sorry I bough Patrick Willis’s jersey this year and he had to go in for x-rays on Sunday. Luckily, he came back out. I promise to never buy another jersey again.
We have some decent parts of a team now, but you can’t let JT get hit like 25 times a game. Seattle sacked him 8 or 9 times last week, and even though you got the win the Cardinal’s are undefeated. You can win the division with a 8-8 or 7-9 season!
