Based on another thread he started and the replies in the one mentioned in the OP, I figured it was someone just throwing out meaningless posts to increase there total number of posts.
A relatively good Wikipedia account of Riothamus as more-or-less-historical figure, with brief discussion of him as possible historical analog to Arthur.
The Arthur-as-Scot meme, by the way, finds very little support except, as one might expect, among those romantic at heart in the Lowlands and Southern Uplands. There is minimal evidence for an Arthurian presence in Cumbria, as there is in much of western Britain. But other areas, notably Somerset, have a much stronger claim – insofar as anybody has a claim at all. (Like Atlantis, anything historical that might underlie the myth and legend is very elusive.)
The pervious post was, of course, supposed to go in the Arthur thread, not here.
Operation Ripper seems to be part and parcel of a general decline in civility on the Dope lately. Thanks to What Exit and Colibri for addressing this concern.
And that’ll continue, as long as people keep up with their “pervious” posts. 
I agree with this and in particular find the phrase “Google is your friend” obnoxious.
Well, he hasn’t shown up here at his pitting and he has not posted for a day. Maybe that was his way of taking our advice?

Upon reading most of the threads, I find the Columbus thread really annoys me. Going around claiming only he knows what a whole culture thought or felt a 100 years ago and demanding everyone else to provide cites that they didn’t think his way. The sheer arrogance…it makes one grr.
