So no, you are wrong

Listen, I said I’d better be careful. Statistically there are fewer variables to deal with. Hair colour and (lack of) baldness being right up front. Looking at the linked picture I see two men who are very similar in appearance, but to me you could substitute probably thousands of men who look just as similar.

I’m sorry and do not in any way intend to be rude, but Asian (oriental) men are a very homogeneous group. This certainly can’t be construed as racism or xenophobia, I’m just relating my version of reality.

They are homogenous to you because you aren’t Asian or around a lot of Asians, obviously, or you would clearly be able to see distinctive differences.

I reject your reality and substitute my own

Non-white people say the same thing about us, that all white people look alike. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sure. I get that.

I’m some white guy from the US midwest, and I don’t think the two men in that pic look identical at all. Quite similar, sure, but not twins.

To be clear: you think all east asian men are indistinguishable from each other?

That’s exactly what I was trying to convey; they look similar but not identical. And the fact that they look similar is not remarkable at all, because of the fact that there is little variability to begin with. This was the intent of my post.

So Koreans look like Indians look like Turks? They’re all Asian.

I’m white, and I think we do all look alike. Damned if I can tell anyone apart.

Get bent. You know what I mean. I’m not discussing this further.

Better be careful out there: Man suffers heart attack after dancing to Psy’s hit song

948,929,584 views at the time I post this. I’m sure I’m responsible for at least a quarter of them.

Betcha he’ll break a billion before the year is out.

I’m counting on it! And helping everyday!

Anyway, just to be clear, I’ve spent time in East Asia, and literally decades in Southeast Asia, and there’s quite a lot of variation. I woud no more suggest East Asian men “all look similar” any more than I’d seriously suggest all Cauacasians look similar. That’s just silly and suggests maybe someone needs to get out more.

But my wife really has been mistaken for Japanese and Filipina here in Thailand, that’s no joke. Her Chinese ethnicity stands her apart fom the ethnic-looking Thais, but there are lots of Chinese Thais, so go figure. She’s only been mistaken as such when we’re out somewhere together, so maybe some people just assume we’re both foreigners. But Western-Thai couples are a dime a dozen, so again, go figure. In the US, she’s been mistaken for Hawaiian and even Navajo. Not by the real Hawaiians when we lived in Hawaii, but when traveling on the mainland and people heard we were from Hawaii, they just assumed she’s what a Hawaiian looks like.

Asian boys do all look alike. It made finding a good boyfriend *exhausting *for this Asian girl. So I refocused on Caucasians, and gosh, is it easier!

Although “get bent” is a nicer way of saying it, telling someone to “get fucked” is out of line in Cafe Society. Don’t do this again.

I’d be up for that challenge

But they don’t look particularly similar…

I have zero idea why this song hasn’t annoyed me yet, but I love it. Still.

It’s well past 950 million views. The slope of the graph of views has been pretty steady since early September, so not much longer until a billion. And probably 200-400 million after that before it fizzles.

From the stats page:

Top demographics
Female, 13-17 years
Male, 13-17 years
Male, 35-44 years

The first two are to be expected. The third? Maybe a lot of divorced guys looking for dance moves.

I don’t think they look very much alike either. The Thai guy is much more handsome.
