Oprah gets OJ to admit he did it [or maybe not]

I’ve disabled it.

I don’t know if it’s going south, but without her it hasn’t really gotten off the ground. I agree that’s what’s really going on here, and if they do eventually work out a deal for an OJ confession show, that will be the bottom line.

This. Lawyer input?

Huh? A confession at this point would only confirm that justice was not done.

One thing he has to lose is parole. If he were to publicly confess that he’d gotten away with murdering Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman, I would imagine he’d have a very hard time getting the Nevada parole board to let him out early.

Yeah, it’s not doing well at all. Broadcasting And Cable Magazine has many articles about how it’s just not coming anywhere close to what it should be.

Most of it revolves around the power of Oprah. Her new network shouldn’t be getting the space and position on cable systems but it is. Why? 'Cause even if the network isn’t meeting expectations Oprah is still that big.

I’m amazed that anybody cares what he has to say at this point.

Legally nothing, but from a personal reputation point of view he could lose a lot. There might be people out there (like maybe his children) who believe he is not the person that killed Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman.

Except he wouldn’t be confessing to murder, he would be confessing to killing someone in self-defense. Assuming the story of his confession is true, which it isn’t, and assuming that when he claimed self-defense, he could get people to believe him, which he probably couldn’t.

But in the fictitious interview Simpson isn’t really isn’t claiming self-defense. He allegedly says it started as self-defense but then he snapped and went berserk, at which point self-defense no longer works as a legal defense. There’s a well-known case in Oklahoma where a pharmacist has been convicted of murder for shooting a kid who robbed his store eight more times after first shooting him in the head and rendering him either dead or unconscious.

:dubious:

.

I’ll take your word for it. Since these stories are all fake anyway, it’s pointless arguing about it. I just looked at the first link in the OP which said “Simpson claimed he stabbed Nicole in self-defense.”

Didn’t mean to be arguing, just clarifying.

How can I argue with you if you don’t particpate?

Far be it for me to be a grammar Nazi, but I had to read this a couple of times to make it make sense.

It sounds like the pharmacist was shot in the head and left for dead, then convicted, while the kid robbed the store eight more times.

I know you meant the pharmacist shot the kid eight times, then left the kid for dead, and the pharmacist was then convicted, but the real reason I mention this is because the way you wrote it gave me a chuckle. Considering I’ve got a bad head cold, and feel like shit, any sort of laugh is worthwhile.

IOW, thanks for making me laugh.

For OJ, I too often thought it wouldn’t hurt for him to confess, since what’s he got to lose, but I guess pride trumps everything else.

Okay, yeah I can see what you mean now that you mention it. I did a little editing to that post before posting it and I don’t think it [the editing ;)] served me well.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Welp, I’m convinced. Never talk to Oprah without your lawyer present.

You have it all wrong, the kid robbed the store 8 more times after he was shot dead.

Confess that he did what?

Became a zombie.

George Vreeland Hill, I think you’re on to something! I can’t believe it took this long for someone to actually say it.
